Oh no Corrie's Blanche

So shocked to hear Corrie actress Maggie Jones who played Blanche has died, aged 75. She was my favourite Corrie character and I will miss her hilarious one liners and insults. She was brilliant.

Really sad. My fave character too. She will be missed.

Oh no, I thought she was lovely. Poor woman. I'd read she was ill a few weeks ago, not sure what with.

I didn't even know she was ill, but had been out of the show since October. I wonder what they will do for the Christmas episodes for the Barlow family, unless scenes with her have already been filmed.

There was a report some weeks ago that she was very ill following surgery. So sad to hear the news - what a wonderful character actress. Corrie won't be the same without her - DH hates soaps but watches Corrie just for Blanche.

Oh, that is sad, the Street will not be the same without her, she has been the best character these last few years.

My favourite scene was about a year ago when Ken was going to the theatre with Gail's Dad and she went off on a homophobic rant in the pub.

Also a shame that Jack and Rita are no longer on screen so regularly, the older characters are what makes it head and shoulders above all the other soaps.

She will be so missed. I cant imagine how it will be now. The only soap I watch and it is mainly because of her. I cant stand the Gail storyline.

So sad. She was the best thing about it!

Blanche was 'old, superior, superb' Corrie' while I find myself disliking many of the new characters or just plain bored by them and their storylines.

The best actress that's been in the street EVER - she was a brilliant comic actress. Very sad.
