The Queen prog on C4

Did anyone else see the first part of this docu-drama last night? I thought it was really good and very interesting too. It's different actresses playing the Queen every night. I had no idea that it was the fact that Princess Margaret pulled a bit of fluff off Townsend's jacket that alerted everyone to to affair! Fascinating!

Yes - that was interesting but I did think it was all a bit rubbish really.
The voice over kept telling us that it was how the queen sorry - The Queen - quietly wielded her power then they showed her NOT doing that at all but being totally on Margaret's side and giving her the responsibility of the decision.
Then that biographer told us The Queen played a larger part than we thought and then we were told again how she asserted her authority through handling the affair.

I was somewhat bemused as to the truth to be quite honest.

I enjoyed it, although I did detect an Irish accent every so often from Princess Margaret. Is it on again tonight?

I didn't know about the bit of fluff either.

Well I didn't know about it! I think it will be interesting to see the different actresses playing Her M the Q. Although I wish they had gone for full on drama instead of the docu-drama format.

Tonight it's Samantha Bond's turn. And then it's Great Aunt Lorretta from Grandpa in my pocket!!

Don't think people being The Queen v.g. but am enjoying it. Reminding me how vile Margaret Thatcher was.

The woman who played QE2 in the Thatcher one looked/sounded/acted absolutely nothing like her. Thought the Thatcher was quite good though.
