Elizabeth Berrington (born 3 August 1970) is an English actress, who has featured in many popular British television series, such as The Bill, The Office, Casualty, The Lakes and Rose and Maloney. In 1999, she played Marie-Antoinette in Let Them Eat Cake, starring Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. In cinema, Berrington has featured in many popular films such as The Little Vampire and, more recently, Nanny McPhee with Emma Thompson and In Bruges alongside Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes. In 2008 she played Mel in Moving Wallpaper, and then also in 2009.

In 2009, she played Ffion, a snobbish suburban mother in the ITV drama May Contain Nuts and also Nicola, a nurse in the BBC Two comedy, Psychoville.

She is currently appearing as Food Technology Teacher Ruby Fry in Waterloo Road

going back a bit of course!!

thedollshouse · 25/11/2009 20:57

She has been in loads of stuff. Recently she played the stuck up mum in an ITV dramma, can't remember what it was called but it was about a mum who pretended to be her daughter so she could sit the 11+.

thedollshouse · 25/11/2009 20:58

Crossed posts Giraffe. You obviously have a better memory than me.

Katymac · 25/11/2009 20:58

None of that rings any bells - never mind I must be dreaming/misremembering

GiraffeAHolic · 25/11/2009 20:59

Yep wikipedia my memory is amazing

FoJo · 25/11/2009 22:01

I reckon I recognise the language teacher who's sent Steph on a course, but have looked her up and none of the stuff she;s been in rings a bell so I know what you mean Katy!

LauraIngallsWilder · 25/11/2009 22:08

I thought that too fojo - I know I recognise her but nothing listed rang a bell

I thought she starred in a 1990s film....... thinks thinks thinks........... "shooting fish"

Having hunted on t'web I now see that Georgie in that film was in fact played by kate beckingsdale - very similar face

Highlander · 26/11/2009 14:04

I was crying with laughter at tonight's episode

MrsMorgan · 26/11/2009 22:34

The language teacher has been in Casualty. She played the wife/gf of Abs brother.

gallusbesom · 27/11/2009 07:48

I have a crush on the Science teacher! I've liked hims since he appeared on Childrens Ward in 1989 and he's been in all the usual drama-y things such as Making Out, Clocking Off but he was very good in Burn It.

firsttimemama · 27/11/2009 11:10

That woman was in another show with lots of strong women chacaters and her daughter was a bit off the rails, drinking alcohol if I recall and the mum was shagging her boss who was a nerdy head teacher I think - he was a nerdy something!

Docbunches · 27/11/2009 11:45

I think she was also in 'Drop Dead Gorgeous' a drama series on BBC3 a while back, about a teenage model; which was quite good IIRC.

Baconsarnie · 27/11/2009 15:22

Yes, she played Val in Drop Dead Gorgeous, who was shagging the headmaster. Great series. She was also in The Office Christmas Special. Played the annoying pregnant woman.

LauraIngallsWilder · 27/11/2009 20:31

Mrs Morgan - that is exactly where I recognise her from, you are a wonder - I have spent ages trying to figure that out

MrsMorgan · 27/11/2009 20:46

No problem

CocoLP · 27/11/2009 20:49

She's one of those people that's in loads of things but you never can put your finger on what or remember her name.
