but good grief, some of the contestants are so full of themselves aren't they?

That's what makes it so funny... Loved that woman the other week with the wardrobe of extraordinarily revealing clothes. And the one where the snake pooed on the table, honestly.

juneybean · 16/11/2009 01:42

haha i love it

did you watch tonights? what a bunch!?

imnotaceleb · 17/11/2009 07:18

omg the snake one was so funny.

Told my DS's about about and they nearly cried with laughter.

Saltire · 17/11/2009 09:09

I watched one last night on More4/E4 can't remember which. It was 4 people from Liverpool and one of them was a vegetarian. He seemd to be one of those know it all types and was getting the back up the others

It's better when they don't get on. Nobody really watches it for the cooking

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 17/11/2009 09:20

Ah I love it too.

I prefer the ones where it's spread over 5 episodes though , you get to see even more crazy behaviour.

candyfluff · 17/11/2009 12:13

the voice over guy is the best part of the show - genius

SausageRocket · 17/11/2009 12:15

Oh god, the snake shit one was HILARIOUS

SausageRocket · 17/11/2009 12:16

It is must see TV in our house. Even 7yo DD loves it, mind you, she is cooking show addict (blame DH for that one)

Iklboo · 17/11/2009 12:18

The Manchester one where one of the women was so drunk fell asleep and her guests ended up cooking their own dinner was hilarious

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 17/11/2009 13:30

Oh god yes that was brilliant 'I just get so knackered'.

Was that the same woman who threw up halfway through dinner and blamed it on something getting stuck in her throat?

Iklboo · 17/11/2009 13:33

Yes I think it was - or that what one of the other guys was talking about was making her feel ill.
THAT one was a real oddball series! The older woman looked a bit like Ronnie Corbett in drag, the guy who won looked like a Chuckle Brother.....

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 17/11/2009 14:25

Ha ha

There was a genius one in Sheffield too with the most annoying man imaginable.

NicknameTaken · 17/11/2009 15:58

Best ever was the guy who brought his cheese to room temperature by taking it from the fridge and putting it in his pocket. And he told his guests this while they were eating it.

Please tell me I did not hallucinate this.

Love, love, love this show.

Pinkjenny · 17/11/2009 16:01

I can't bear the ones where the men are sweating whilst preparing the food, or when the guests find hairs in their meals.

It nearly puts me off my Horlicks. Nearly. Not quite.

juneybean · 17/11/2009 20:03

There was one who wiped his brow with his tea towel then proceeded to wipe the plates bleurgh!!!

Hahahah cheese in the pocket was so funny

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 16:58

There's loads of episodes of 4OD

how will I ever get any work done?

megonthemoon · 18/11/2009 17:00

Does anyone else play the "What would I serve if I were a contestant on CDWM?" game? DH and I do it every time we watch it, and our menu always changes.

I am in love with voice-over man. Funniest person on telly

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/11/2009 17:05

Yes!

There was a fab thread on this ages ago

Mine changes too

At the moment I'd do

tiger prawns in XO sauce and a leafy salad

crispy duck with hoisin, cucumber and red onion and pancakes with a mushroom pilau

winter fruits jelly with vanilla icecream

mmmmmmm

juneybean · 18/11/2009 18:49

I love it when they serve goats cheese and red onion tart so I'd probably give that a go!

Maybe pasta for the main meal lol

Then fudge cake for dessert.

Such a classy bird!

megonthemoon · 18/11/2009 20:37

well after what i've just wolfed down eaten daintily for dinner, i'd currently be going all retro with beef stew and dumplings!

but usually it involves something thai and a very gooey chocolate cake.

cakeslover · 18/11/2009 22:53

The voice-over man is the best. Wonder if the show would be fun without him.

YanknCock · 18/11/2009 22:56

DH and I seem to be watching this more and more, even though we both normally hate any reality show. The snake poo one was like a train wreck, just couldn't look away!
