I'm assuming it'll be on at 7pm, and not clashing with the X-Factor results show.

Tennant's antepenultimate episode - and things start to head towards The End...

Have it on Sky+ already!!

Sad? Obsessed? me??

As an aside UQD.. What your theories on the new Doc? How do you think he's going to play him?

I'm trying to come to terms with the loss of my DT!!

UnquietDad · 09/11/2009 10:36

I think we can't judge him until we see him - certainly not on stolen on-location fragments of dialogue and not even on the trailers, when they start! There is always some resistance to a new Doctor and he (or she!) takes a story or two to bed in.

Oooohh, can't wait.

Do you think it would be okay for my DD to watch (she'll be 7 this month)? She loves Doctor Who & Sarah Jane Adventures, and Has No Fear, at that age I was hiding behind a cushion. Just worried that it might be too scary/sad for her.

UnquietDad · 10/11/2009 11:59

Well, my DD was 7 when Blink was shown. So yes!

On the assumption that Reality's DS is over the trauma now:

Blink is my favourite Dr Who episode ever - I could watch it again and again.

We are all ridiculously excited about Sunday and are whiling away the hours by making Dr Who trailers. I have a great Blink-based one with "EXTERMINATE!" going on in the background and a random Judoon thrown in for good measure .

edam · 10/11/2009 12:08

more here!

ds was only little when Blink came out, so I didn't let him watch it. Terrified me, never mind him. But he's now seen the repeat on Beeb 3 (at age 6) and didn't turn a hair.

Mind you, I do have to take his talking moving dalek out of his room at bedtime - apparently the shadow is worrying.

VoidofDiscovery · 10/11/2009 13:16

Lol, thanks, she loved Blink and got the statue mask in a recent copy of the Dr Who magazine (buy it Mummeeeeee pleeeeese for my brother's hallowe'en costume).

'twas freaky turning round seeing a pint sized angel grimacing at you with dd going "Don't blink, don't blink"

Katymac · 10/11/2009 13:28

SO do we have advanced notice of when it is on at Christmas??

Pretty please - we have to plan whole holiday around it

UnquietDad · 10/11/2009 14:38

Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Not official but that is what everyone is saying.

All the official RT DW covers archived here - it even had three when it wasn't on air! That must be a record.

TV FIXED PANIC OVER [Phew}

dd2 is now 8 and has watched Dr Who since it restarted but is pretty unscarable (went on a night walk with her Dad via the graveyard & he chickened out first )

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 10/11/2009 18:46

My 2 are 7 & 9 and love Dr Who. They've watched it for a couple of years now.

I'm 33 and love DT

Really looking forward to Sundays episode, though will have to V+ it as I'm on a backshift.

AAAAAGH
DH and I are huge Dr Who fans but as we live in NZ, cannot download Sunday's ep from the BBC website. We will have to wait till one of the channels here picks it up (tears hair out emoticon). Ditto for the Xmas specials which always seem to be on here at Easter. We saw last year's Easter special in June.

My DCs (aged 6,8,8) are all huge fans too (6 y.o. is called Rose, which has contributed somewhat ). They have seen most of the first 4 series now. However we didn't let them see Blink as DH and I were both terrified. Interesting that some of you have let your DCs watch this and they have been fine. Any opinions on Silence in the Library? (another one that the DCs haven't seen yet...again DH and I were well and truly spooked!)

Hope that Sunday's ep is worth waiting for...ditto the Sarah Jane adventures, which haven't made it over here at all. Any good?
