I hope someone is there to explain how the IQ tests work. I remember learning about them in Psychology at uni (in the 1980s) about how they were weighted towards while, male middle-class euro/north americans.

I did an IQ test and it came out quite high. Ha! It counts for absolutely nothing!

MORgueOSKY · 26/10/2009 21:12

We are watching it now. on C4 started at 9pm

benjysmum · 26/10/2009 21:14

more info please. what time and where?

Wonderstuff · 26/10/2009 21:15

I started laughing at how ridiculous Richard Lin was, then realised how deeply unfunny and hidious it was. Aborigines with an average IQ of 75 ffs.
Interesting article in Times2 today by Tony Buzan on IQ

MORgueOSKY · 26/10/2009 21:15

I was just thinking the same georgiemum

benjysmum · 26/10/2009 21:15

seen. sorry.

MORgueOSKY · 26/10/2009 21:16

Will look that up wonderstuff, I can remember doing IQ tests at primary school.

That richard lin, if I understood correctly, did he say he only tested 30 to 40 people of each race?!

I wonder what efforts if any RL made to test a wide cross section of each race's people...

I know "morons, imbeciles and idiots" as actual categories of people had me ROtFL.

bodycolder · 26/10/2009 21:40

very interesting.

Wonderstuff · 26/10/2009 21:51

How stupid is this guy?

Wonderstuff · 26/10/2009 21:57

Seems quite conclusive.

MaggieBruja · 26/10/2009 22:05

Benjysmum, yes that seemed like some black and white harry enfield sketch.

benjysmum · 26/10/2009 22:20

That was actually quite thought provoking although I'm not sure it told us anything really new about race and educational achievement. The bit about having "a middle class mentality" made me think though.

Wonderstuff · 26/10/2009 22:27

I thought the last guy, talking about how IQ scores have increased over time and what exactly they measured was interesting.

I have always felt that middle class aspirations are key, school league tables are a really good indicator of what sort of neighbourhood a school serves.

interesting stuff. Dh and I have decided we're middle class wannabe's - we think we have the middle class aspirations for us and our children.........we're just somewhat lacking in the material things to show it )
