Does anyone know if they are planning on doing another series of this in 2009 (or have I missed it?)

OP posts:

They have a website but not sure if the programme details are on it

Chickenshavenolips · 26/10/2009 15:21

I was wondering about this. I remember last years programmes, but haven't seen anything this year.

ParisFrog · 26/10/2009 15:21

Only looked quickly, and can't find the programming schedule but they have clips.

Type Child of Our Time into google

ParisFrog · 26/10/2009 15:29

The 10th anniversary series of Child of Our Time is due to be broadcast in spring 2010.

TwoIfByScream · 26/10/2009 17:04

Was there not something about them only doing the shows once every two years now the children are getting older.

Struths · 27/10/2009 12:55

Yeah I think you're right TwoIfByScream. Afterall, development slows down a lot now they're at this age, there probably wouldn't be that much to say in just one year.

gagamama · 28/10/2009 09:27

I love this programme. I think of poor little Eve at random moments, I hope she's coping without her mum.

madusa · 28/10/2009 18:31

one of my children was born in 2000 so I watch it and compare my DS1 to the children in the programme

chocolateorange · 28/10/2009 18:36

Oh god, Eve.

Cried many a tear for that dear child

BertieBotts · 28/10/2009 19:50

You can watch the first 5 years (I think?) On the BBC website - does anyone know where I can watch the rest of them? I am finding it all newly fascinating since DS was born. I think I will watch my way through series 1 & 2 now he is one...

kittya · 28/10/2009 21:11

Dont you think its staged though? I mean the ones that they have followed recently (Im pretty sure we did have one this year, or some kind of update) werent the original lot. Do you reckon people have dropped out as the years have gone by? and maybe only a certain type has stayed in? Im just saying this because my friend and I both said last time how the families all seemed to be white middle class professionals on the whole and thats not how it started out is it?

TeamAlesha · 29/10/2009 13:25

Im a big fan of this programme and im sure it has not been on this year.

Over the years it has definetely tailed off a bit.

kittya · 29/10/2009 22:07

I think people have dropped out. It can be quite competitive, shouldve maybe just done the first 7 years. It might not have been on fully but there was definitely a special, I remember seeing Paris in a programme.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyZombieSlave · 29/10/2009 23:06

There is a Mumsnetter who is a friend of Eve's family.

mrsfossil · 31/10/2009 20:25

I love this programme and was upset when Eves mum died, i know i didn't know them personally but i watched every programme and i remmebered Eve as a tiny baby with her mum so proud. I hope the family are coping.

frecklyspeckly · 01/11/2009 22:04

I know what you mean about Eve it was so very, very sad

yama · 01/11/2009 22:09

I have just checked Wikipedia (I know, I know) and it lists only 8 series up to 2008.

So, it looks like no series this year so far.

GuyFawkesIsMyLoveSlave · 03/11/2009 23:40

BBC says the next series due to be broadcast in spring 2010. And the last series was 2008 so it looks as though they have gone to every other year.
