I'm toying with buying it on DVD as I'm a little AR and like to start at the beginning... is this a good idea or should I just leap in?

I'd watch from series 1 if only to drool over the delectable Matthew Macfadyen.

Then you can sob when he leaves and perk up when Rupert Penry-Jones joins

Eye candy aside, tis also brilliant telly

And Richard Armitage in Series 7 [drool]. Very well written, very well acted, fantastic programme. Definately start at the beginning, but don't get attached to any of the characters, as you never know who's going to get blown up, garotted, boiled in the deep fat fryer...

twirlymum · 19/10/2009 10:29

Aaaagh! The deep fat fryer! I had nightmares about that!

Yes, def start from the beginning (It's a very good place to start!)

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 19/10/2009 10:40

Oh god YES! Watch them ALL. And then watch them again.

Bucharest · 19/10/2009 10:42

Yes- useful also with rewind and watch again element of dvd as sometimes it's very clever and technical and completely over my little head.....

Tortington · 19/10/2009 10:43

oh yes. i wasn;t keen myself, british spy drama...bound to be pants and at best like the bloody bill or some shite.

but it is so not - its really really good/

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 19/10/2009 10:55

When is it coming back? I adore 'Spooks' - even the opening credits make my heart race.

Yes, the deep-fat fryer will live forever in my memory. Simply horrible!

thaliablogs · 19/10/2009 21:16

Yes. Watch it. Watch it now.

Apparently coming back soon, like within weeks. Was in my sky mag. Yaay!

PacificWerewolfwoohood · 19/10/2009 21:18

Yes to watching it
Yes to starting from the beginning

VerityBrulee · 19/10/2009 21:57

I bought all the box sets in a sale after christmas, and LOVED them, dh and I became addicted.

I am counting down the days to seeing Lucas North again [swoon]

roisin · 19/10/2009 22:19

When is it starting again!
I just became a convert for the last series; tuned in to see Richard Armitage and was instantly hooked.

HowlingAtTheMoon · 20/10/2009 15:11

Yes you must start immediately.

Saltire · 20/10/2009 16:07

Oh yes Richard Armitgae was shirtless in some of the last series

ShrinkingViolet · 20/10/2009 16:33

and is going to be shirtless in some of this too (and in bed with a gorgeous blonde I believe)

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 20/10/2009 16:48

I love spooks, it's fab.

Anyone know when it's back?

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 20/10/2009 22:34

End of October or November I heard somewhere. So VERY soon

cornishpasty · 23/10/2009 16:35

4th November at 9pm - not long to wait!!
Yipee!

smugmumofboys · 23/10/2009 16:39

You have to watch from the beginning. It's a really great show. It's the only thing me and DH watch together.

The deep fat fryer was grim but I also had sleepless nights (literally) after the 'torture house' episodes.

So brace yourself.
