Not sure if this has been discussed here before.

But does anyone else hate the new CBeebies Autumn song? I do, it makes me feel really depressed, so dull and boring. I loved the Summer song and miss it.

Wonder what the winter song will be like, will I want to slit my wrists everytime I hear it.

Didn't pay any attention to it the other day when it was on....that's how catchy it is.

Loved the summer one...know all the words and the actions [childishly smug]

SarfEasticated · 15/09/2009 00:34

We used to love the summer song. I tried to get the actions but am hopelessly badly co-ordinated. Autumn song is very boring......

I loved the summer song too. There was one particular dancer - a tall guy with dark hair - who just looked SO happy. It always made me smile. The autumn one is a bit dull, isn't it? Perhaps I need to get a life too...

unfortunatly DS AGE 5 seems to think hes to old for beebies now insists on boomerang now.

but have just watch the song and its totally rubbish! not really interactive for the little ones!

Daisydaydream · 07/10/2009 15:28

I love the Autumn song! It sounds just like early 90's Indie/dance crossover! I guess that is rather a small niche market if they were aiming for that sound! It makes me think of school discos and being 15. Not sure what DS thinks to it, he hasn't shown any particular interest. I hope I'm not the only ageing indie-kid grooving away to it though!

Oh it's so not new, wait 'till you have heard it year after year........

Makes you feel very old, but is stangely comforting.

Raahh · 07/10/2009 16:08

I like the new song- but loved the old one- - spent many a day singing 'birds migrate, hedgehogs hibernate...'whilst wandering round tesco...
here

NorkilyChallenged · 08/10/2009 08:30

The old one was much better.

I like the new song as a song, but it's no good for kiddies, my DD can't work out the words (I caught her singing "melon fruit for us" instead of "mellow fruitfulness" but then that's fair enough, "mellow fruitfulness" is a bit much for 2 year olds ). The CBeebies songs should be more catchy and singalong-able

Agree with NC that the words aren't very clear, I like the indie music though. IMO they need to make the lyrics clearer and have kareoke (sp?) style words and a bouncing ball across the bottom .

NorkilyChallenged · 08/10/2009 08:40

It does have an indie vibe but also reminds me of Mamas and Papas style 60s/70s overlaid harmony (California dreamin' kind of thing). But the vocals are just too mushy

Meglet - the lyrics are on the CBeebies website if you're anal like me and have to know what they are singing correctly and not DD1's melon version

Marioandluigi · 08/10/2009 19:40

I like it, my DS can humm along with the words, and he gives his humming when it gets to the 'Autumn has Come' bit

MovingOutOfBlighty · 08/10/2009 19:43

Quite like it.

Not sure why Cerrie has to look so incredibly satisfied for many seconds as if in the distance she has spotted Hugh Jackman nakedly caressing an Coxes Pippin.

MrJustAbout · 15/11/2009 09:40

The song reminded me of the polyphonic spree ... indie and slightly over-produced, if . I suspect that even if there was a previous version, some of the vocals are new - that does sound like Cerrie at the end.

And yes, moving ... the mud definitely isn't the dirtiest thing in shot :-)
