CBBC (It's the holidays, they're allowed) - what breed of dog is Hacker the continuity link puppet?

This is the foundation of an increasingly rancorous debate.

Evidence will be required, 'Mumsnet said so' is probably not going to cut it.

Border terrier?

Threadworm · 29/07/2009 19:19

Was that the wrong answer? Have I accidentally taken your husband's side?

German Shepherd then.

MollieO · 29/07/2009 19:21

I'm sad that such a noble dog like Hacker has been relegated to being a mere continuity dog. He used to have his own show .

snigger · 29/07/2009 19:21

So that's one person on my side, then.

Border terrier's what I reckon.

DH thinks its a shaggy Patterdale.

We need to find other things to occupy our time.

I'm still right, though.

x-post, Threadworm - no way is he a German Shepherd!

A whole show of Hacker would have been mildly tolerable in the background - anything rather than Tracy Beaker.

I'm guessing that the differences between a patterdale and a border terrier are too subtle to be conveyed in puppet form. So you are both right.

(Patterdale would prob have the dignity to trash the studio and leave, though.)

He was in Scoop - very funny show about a rubbish reporter. Used to be on at 7.30am weekdays and had lots of actors I recognised from non-children's progs but has disappeared. I would have thought he is a border terrier.

He was also let loose at Wimbledon to search for Sue Barker here.
