I reckon Minty is the father of Heather's baby. They have been going through trying to get their marriage ended (annulled/divorced?), and it seemed that they were holding back when talking about any intimate details. Also Minty is getting more & more involved with that other woman, so being a father-to-be to another woman's baby would rather put the spoiler on that.

I don't get the Darren/Heather thing. I know EE can be a bit shite sometimes and do unrealistic things - ala Phil/Dawn, but Darren and Heather together would be pushing the bounds of realism way too far.
