Anyone else watching? I love watching it on the tv. Good view, not too loud, can shower every day and raid the fridge .

Wish I was there now to see Bruce Springsteen. I've liked him since I was 10 and I am very old (still younger than him though)!

dh and I are like an old couple, we have even used the term "it was not like that in our day"

wonder what the loos are like now

notnowbernard · 27/06/2009 23:28

The loos are still horrific

I take an abundance of Immodium when I go to a festival to prevent the need, IYKWIM...

I've just looked at the line-up, would be v. difficult to decide what to see, so much on the stages they aren't televising. I haven't been since I started teaching (bummer not being able to have holiday during term time, tried Fri-Sun one year when I was a TA, but wasn't the same).
But next year have Friday and Mondays off so am going to try to go with dd. She will be 2.

So gutted I'm not going to see Blur.. Didn't get my act together to get Hyde Park tickets either.

I think this years line up is particularly amazing, Dizzee Rascal was on at 5.30 ffs..

Watching Bruce and not convinced his guitar is actually plugged in.

I don't mean that you can't see a lead coming from it - I know about radio mikes - I just can't hear it in the sound mix at all. And he looks as if he is just doing random, showy strumming. It's also difficult to make out the words...

Wonderstuff · 28/06/2009 00:43

Wiley said his set list consists of 2 songs to start then they wing it, deciding on the next song as they go along!

Meglet · 28/06/2009 21:41

UQD I'm watching the repeat now and I see what you're saying about his guitar .

wonderstuff I've decided to take the dc's in 2 years. If you go next year and tell me how good / stressful it was then I can plan accordingly .

I need to get off this computer so I can get in my pj's in time for Blur!

Total contrast with Blur tonight where you can hear every squeal and thrum and groan that Graham Coxon's teasing out of his. Four men are making more noise than Bruce's entire army did!

Wonderstuff · 28/06/2009 22:56

God they are fabulous. I am soo very gutted not to be there.

glasjam · 29/06/2009 01:15

Whats with all the flags though? Is it just me or are there LOADS this year? And who exactly wants to hold a flag up through an entire set just to show where they come from?

Not a huge fan of the Prodigy but thought their set was amazing especially after having watched a bit of the steaming Bruce Springsteen (Zzzzzz)

Wonderstuff · 29/06/2009 12:30

I don't think the flags are to show people where you're from (Glasto isnt that international) rather a good way of finding your mates when you nip off to get beer. Did seem to be many more than normal. Was interesting to see the few that have been there every year for yonks, pigeon on a stick was missing...

Me and DP met at Glastonbury twenty years ago. Seems like only yesterday......
