I'm SkyPlussing it so that DH and I can watch it together when he's back in the UK next month. Unless I weaken and watch it myself before that...

NorbertDentressangle · 18/06/2009 21:22

Thanks for the reminder -saw the trailer for it and thought it looked weird and wonderful.

Stilla · 18/06/2009 21:42

OOOh me -LOVED League of Gentlemen

notnowbernard · 18/06/2009 21:44

Yes, looking forward to it

DAwn French in tonight's episode

YanknCock · 18/06/2009 21:51

I'll be watching. DH and I loved League of Gentlemen. We even nicknamed my horrible midwife 'Pauline'.

Stilla · 18/06/2009 22:32

Anyone pressed the red button for episode 2 ?

nomorecake · 18/06/2009 22:38

oh no, forgot it was on!!

MachuPicchu · 18/06/2009 22:41

Yes watching episode two. I will never sleep soundly again...

notnowbernard · 18/06/2009 22:43

Makes League of Gentleman look like gentle family sit-com material...

PurpleOne · 18/06/2009 22:45

pressed red button for episode 2 but there's no talking!!!

Did anyone ever see League of Gentlemen live on stage?
They were brill.

We have a 3 week old kitten who we called Dave. He's a no tail LOL

Might watch it all over again on iplayer

Rollergirl1 · 18/06/2009 22:51

It's just two of them from League of Gentlemen isn't it? I would say was very similar to what they have done before.

But still very funny. Spat my wine out at the murder mystery bit where he'd written 'fuck pig' on the wall.

LovelyDear · 18/06/2009 22:54

sorry mum i done a bad killing

PurpleOne · 18/06/2009 22:55

Yes it's just Reece and Steve.
In a recent interview with Jeremy Dyson, he did give subtle hints that the 'Leaguers' would be getting back together again in the future.

I admit I did like the bit where Mr Jelly had his hand pulled off and scared the kids. And then paid him cash in the fake hand!

notnowbernard · 18/06/2009 22:57

Yes very similar but darker, I thought

Or maybe that's just the passage of time

HAs been ages since I've seen LoG

Rollergirl1 · 18/06/2009 23:03

"sorry mum i done a bad killing"

They are kings of the catch-phrase..

"Hello Daave, you are my wife now"
"This is a local shop for local people"
"I made a little brown fish"

7 weeks. Yaaay for thurs night.

When I saw the title I thought it was going to be an adaptation of the Christopher Fowler novel. Disappointed it's not.

Rollergirl1 · 18/06/2009 23:13

I've read the christopher fowler novel too. I wouldn't have bothered watching if was an adaptation of that.

So come on, your thoughts?

OP posts:
Stilla · 18/06/2009 23:16

loved it - the writing of the letters (at the Post Office) was a laugh out loud moment - as was 'cash in hand'

MachuPicchu · 18/06/2009 23:19

I loved it too, but I have to watch anything by them from between my fingers because I'm a wimp and I don't trust them not to scare the bejesus out of me

pollywobbledoodle · 18/06/2009 23:39

brilliantly uncomfortable comedy.
as has been said "mum i've done a bad killing" is a classic line

this and big bang theory are going to be my progs of the week

why exactly did i waste half an hour of my life earlier thinking that might contain nuts might be a bit funny?

PurpleOne · 19/06/2009 01:32

want to buy some pegs dave? oh, this is such a saga now..!

my wife said there is a blockage in your toilet.
no there isn't

there is now!!!

Purpleone -I love the idea of a kitten called Dave

DP has a friend called Dave who is always known in our house as " Hello Dave" (in "that" voice)

Even the DC called him "Hello Dave".

I remember DP and DS (3 at the time) coming back from town one day and DS telling me "We saw Hello Dave in Waitrose" -he did the voice perfectly too .

Agree that Psychoville seemed even darker than LOG in some respects -definitely one to watch!

womma · 23/06/2009 10:17

The old blind man lives in Ilkley! Perfect.

JeffVadar · 24/06/2009 08:31

I saw LOG live a couple of years ago. Being in the same building as Papa Lazarou was very unnerving...

Loved Mr Jelly, the entertainer
