What does sralun mean when he talks about a "corporate" environment? He seems to mention it in quite a disparaging way, and it was one of the reasons he fired James - that he had worked in a corporate environment and it wasn;t like that in his institution. I remember him saying it to a contestant last year as well. I just understood the word corporate to imply a large body of people, so why wouldn't it apply to sralun's organisation? Sorry for being thick!

I think he means more a kind of corporate background and image; you know the type, with strict rules and organisation, clear lines for advancement etc

whereas he thinks his organisation is more free and flexible and the workers aren't just robots, but if he employs kate who knows!

and doesn't he have lots of different companies in his group rather than just one single big entity, such as BT or Barclays?

yes he does have lots of different companies, a ridiculous ammount!!
