I am watchign wonderpets with DD, who loves it. And, they are talking in an american accent...

...have I gone completely and utterly mad? Has this always been american and I just did not notice? Where are the english irritating noises? with that girl that says 'this is 'serwious'

What is going on?

Whaaaat? Wonderpets is English, isn't it? Isn't it?

I remember when they turned Pinky Dinky Doo from American (much better) to English (weirdy, doesn't fit well). I was devastated

NO
I wanted to get dd the dvd but it is originally American. I looove the british version purely for the little duck (hell, she's called Ming Ming, I have no pride). The toys are the same, all american voices. Shame really.

They've done the same with Yo Gabba Gabba too. Quite why they feel the need to dub some things into english bothers me. Yo Gabba Gabba bothers me nayway, I can't make head nor tail of it

I prefer Yo Gabba Gabba in American though as I only ever heard it in american accent over there, then heard it here in english. I agree, why change the accent?

And if its originally american, and then they changed the accents, why change back again? I only like the 'team work' song as DD loves to sing it, the rest is crap, but I would like some consistency!!!

At least I am not going mad. phew

it's an American creation - I've only ever heard it with American accents, didn't realise there was a Brit version.

They did this the other day on nick jr too. They normally show it with british accents but a few rougue american accented ones must have slipped through. The british one sounds marginally less sacharine to me.

It's the same with the Backyardigans iirc. If you go on the US Nick jr website you can hear all the 'original' voices - it's very odd when you're not used to it.

So I have to ask a stupid question here, But the new Wonderpets DVD... Is it in English or American, as I am thinking of getting it for DD. This may sound a bit strange, but I won't be getting it if it has the American voices - It doesn't sound right even though I know it's an American prog.

I saw this thread the other day and was a little confused as I'd been watching WOnder Pets with DD and was sure it wasn't American ... and now I'm watching it again and it isn't!

It's on Nick Jr. 6-6.30 and it's definitely English

I think preference is to do with which one you hear first.
We were watching Shrek2 ages ago with DB who had seen it with an American Ugly Sister. He was all weirded out by the English version while I can't imagine the same character with a differnet voice ...
