It has already been on this evening.

You should be able to watch it on ITV catch up thou!

MerlinsBeard · 16/05/2009 21:32

x factor isn't on until september ish

digitalgirl · 16/05/2009 21:33

Has it? I checked on the website and it's only got last year's contestants on it.

digitalgirl · 16/05/2009 21:34

m friend didnt get though quite shocked tbh, she is fabby

digitalgirl · 16/05/2009 21:34

How many people do they start off with on the show and ae they all voted off by the public or do the judges have a say?

britains got talen is on at mo which is turning into an x factor type prog

MerlinsBeard · 16/05/2009 21:39

right heres what happens

1st auditions are with producers - lots of "comedy acts" go thru as well as some good singers, some ppl who look fabbo and a lot who have sob stories.

next round is the same - no cams except for crowd shots

then its the judges rounds if you go thru you get to next stage which is boot camp(?) where you sing on a stage in birmingham usually and most ppl go home (including thankfully the "comedy acts")

then its judges houses where the judges choose their final however many then its the live shows (in november/december) where the public get to vote.

unlikely to get v far if u have no sob story, look like a normal human being, or don't look right on tv.

digitalgirl · 16/05/2009 21:44

Cheers for the lowdown MoM - yes, agree about sobstory and/or popstar looks. Seems to be the way on these shows. Ah well, fingers crossed. Could make Saturday nights exciting for me again!

If she has got thru a couple of auditions then she probably hasn't even seen the usual judges yet as (apparently) they aren't doing the judges callbacks until june, in which case she may only be on telly in the crowd shots

whooosh · 16/05/2009 21:47

My sister's best friend was in "hope" who made it through a long way (shame I can't rememberhow far) but it was very interesting hearing about it all.

digitalgirl · 16/05/2009 21:49

No she hasn't performed for the judges yet. Will get a call back in a couple of weeks to find out if she will. She did do a piece to camera though [hopeful]

OP posts:
MerlinsBeard · 16/05/2009 21:52

i remember "hope" think they got quite far IIRC, not sure they went to lives though.

They have a new thing this year called a pod which gives people a second chance to sing to a camera - it could have been that...??

digitalgirl · 16/05/2009 21:52

yes woosh, the 02 auditions for X factor sounded horrendous! 15000 people queueing all day, being herded round the arena, pizza slices selling for £8!

OP posts:
digitalgirl · 16/05/2009 21:53

I was told the pod was for the interesting looking weirdos who hadn't got through on talent.

OP posts:
MerlinsBeard · 16/05/2009 21:55

well it prob will be shown on TV that way but its for ppl they aren't sure of i think (in a ooh we like you cos you can sing or would make good telly but you may look shit on screen so we will screen test you kind of way)

digitalgirl · 16/05/2009 21:55

No, it wasn't the pod, after her third audition she was chased by a camera crew and asked to repeat her audition performance in front of an audience. Most likely filler for the spin-off shows on digital.

OP posts:
MerlinsBeard · 16/05/2009 21:56

oh fab DG - hope they don't edit her out then!! and good luck to her

digitalgirl · 16/05/2009 21:56

ooo MoM are you on the production team?!!

OP posts:
MerlinsBeard · 16/05/2009 21:57

sorry x post

no not on team(would let real singers thru and send the freaks home if i was!!), just very very nosey

whooosh · 16/05/2009 22:00

Oh they def got through to the lives and did the tour...and actually still perform though petering out......

MerlinsBeard · 16/05/2009 22:05

that's good to hear Whoooosh (not that they are petering out, that they are still performing) there is a bit of a curse with X factor and a lot of stigma attached despite all the obvious hard work they all do when they get to the lives and the tour etc!!

5Foot5 · 17/05/2009 17:20

"Hope"

Weren't they the girl band put together by the judges from some of the solo singers who hadn't quite made it? Series before last.

If so they got in to the live shows and stayed in for 4 or 5 weeks I think.
