You are not the only one.
I am so excited. Can't get out of my head Vic's confess all last week - just keep seeing it my head and the womens face (sorry can't remember her name) What is going to happen to Shane & co....gone a bit Bonnie and Clyde there...What about Ronnie?...my jaw was on the floor for most of last weeks episode. Gripping stuff.

elle23 · 11/05/2009 17:11

did you see the preview after last weeks episode - Vic's going to give up Ronnie - did you see him getting arrested?!
I loved it when Dutch and...can't remember Chief's name...walked in when Vic was confessing! Brilliant
what is up with Corinne?? Why is she being such a bitch?! can't believe she's helping the police!!
oh I hate Shane, I really want Vic to kill him - AND his very annoying wife!!

is part two of the finale next week?

Really p*ssed off that it's ending for good but I suppose there's only so far a show like that can go...it's been on a LONG time though

elle23 · 11/05/2009 17:20

Mamazon - I know what you mean, I have trouble staying awake for it now they've put it on at stupid o'clock. Why did they move it from the 10pm slot?
Do you remember when it used to come on C5 @ 9pm...ah, those were the days

OP posts:
elle23 · 11/05/2009 17:21

I wanted to buy the the complete series but I think I'll wait until it's all over - do you suppose there'll be a box set available?

OMG! Shane & his family!! I know I said I wanted Vic to kill them, but the way they did it...oh it was sad
was good though wasn't it? the episode I mean! Looking forward to next week...wonder what will happen to Vic...

monkeychambers · 12/05/2009 09:08

I am posting without looking as I guess you watched last night....I have it on plus so will watch it tonight..it is so hard not to just scroll up and read your post....aggghhh...will be back tomorrow...

monkeychambers · 13/05/2009 09:14

Elle23 OMG - I was in bits, could not beleive what Shane did! (I was just hoping and hoping he would just give himself up) Vic's face when he realised his wife and children had gone into Witness Protection....I was on the edge of the sofa....did spend 5 minutes crying at the end...poor Jackson, that horrible bit when Shane calls Vic and realises its all over for him and starts loosing it. So so well done, all of it.

elle23 · 13/05/2009 09:56

It was FAB wasn't it?! Hope Monday's is as good. I was in tears when camera panned to Shane's wife & son on bed DH was a bit
I cheated before it started & read the guide for next week's episode & it said something about Shane coming to terms with consequences blah blah.. so I was really not expecting him to die!!

OP posts:
spokette · 13/05/2009 12:11

I recorded this but the recording had stopped when the police were about to enter Shane's house. Someone please tell me what happened.

Did Shane kill himself and his family?

How did it end?

Can't wait for next week!!!

I reckon Vic will kill Ronnie as an act of charity to save him from going to prison.

Vic needs to receive his comuppence at some point though.

elle23 · 13/05/2009 12:29

Shane was sitting on toilet writing something....police came in & he shot himself in the head - blood all up the side of the wall
camera panned to bedroom & his wife was laying dead on the bed holding flowers & the son (also dead) next to her holding a toy car. was v.v

I don't think Vic would kill Ronnie...do you really want Vic to get his comuppence?? really?
I want him to get away with everything

not liking Corinne though - not right to take his kids away without him saying goodbye. I want him to find them!

What's up with that kid whose mum is missing?? Is Dutch really going to get set up for that??!

OP posts:
monkeychambers · 13/05/2009 12:39

As Vic and Ronnie walked off to sort out the Besuela (spelling) deal I said to Dh 'Vic is going to finish Ronnie off to save him from going down' So I am with you there.

In the preview for next week you saw Ronnie being handcuffed in the barn though, so who knows.

I just can't see how it will end for Vic. maybe him just left with nothing & lost everything, wife and family gone, Shane's family going on his conciense, possibly Ronnie also gone....

I just can't see them allowing him to walk away from it all happily - he did way too much bad stuff,

monkeychambers · 13/05/2009 12:40

Is that kid just playing with Dutch and maybe his mum is just away....? Really hope he hasn't killed her and set him up - Claudette will beleive him thouugh; won't she?

spokette · 13/05/2009 12:41

Many thanks.

Vic is an anti-hero and I love him. It would just be immoral if he got away with all his nefarious shenanigans.

I have always loathed Corinne. For all his faults, Vic loves his children and she taking them away like that is unforgivable.

Dutch and Claudette will nail that kid to the wall.

Do you remember the episode (I think it was either season 1 or 2) when Dutch had the whole precint mesmorised by how he managed to nail a cocky, ice-cold serial killer who thought he was too clever for the cops? Even the strike team were blown away by his adroitness and applauded Dutch when he left the interview room.

spokette · 13/05/2009 12:45

The bit that had DH and I roaring with laughter was during the testerone charged exchange between Vic and Shane on the telephone when Vic said that Shane was on his way to AntoineMitchelleville and that he would give Shane a call from Space Mountain (because he would have Jackson for the day).

I don't know why but we thought that was hilarious

elle23 · 13/05/2009 12:51

ROFL spokette I loved Space Mountain bit too
didn't seem as funny when DH asked 'what's Space Mountain?' and 'I still don't get it' after I explained...

OP posts:
monkeychambers · 13/05/2009 13:45

I had forgotten the Space Mountain bit - we laughed too. (grin)

Finally watched the last episode.

I cannot believe Vic let Ronnie be taken down like that. The man is cold but he had to save his own wretched neck.

At least Shane was honest in his suicide note about being just as bad as Vic. Vic and Shane were the ring leaders and Lem and Ronnie just did as they were told. That is why I felt sorry for Ronnie in a way. Therein lies a lesson about being careful who you follow because they will stab you in the back to save their own skin.

I thought the interlude between Dutch and Claudette was touching and moving because even though she is dying, she did not want pity, just for him to support her as a friend.

I liked Vic's little cubby hole at the end and DH and I laughed when he was being shown his desk and he was dressed in an ill-fitting suit.(lol) Poor Vic, reduced to being a paper shuffler. However, when he left with the gun tucked into his trousers, I said to DH that I reckon he is now going to get his adrenaline rush from becoming a solo vigilante because that is the only way he is going to survive that terminally dull desk job.

Farewell "The Shield", you will be missed!!
