It's driving me mad. I know I've seen him in something else.

He sounds like Miranda's boyfriend out of Sex and the City

nevergoogledragonbutter · 23/04/2009 21:35

yes, it's the guy from sex and the city

MsHighwater · 23/04/2009 21:35

I don't know the actor's name but he was Steve in Sex & the City.

flimflammum · 23/04/2009 22:00

Thanks! Doh! Of course!

Flimflam - I spent the entire episode wondering this and got it near the end. He has a distinctive voice.

Aside from that, what a sad ending to the episode. Poor Carter. Anyone else well up when he was brushing the snow off the memorial to his son?

nevergoogledragonbutter · 23/04/2009 22:03

was carter on dialysis?
what's going on?

TheOldestCat · 23/04/2009 22:14

Looked that way. I wonder how many episodes are left.

bruffin · 23/04/2009 22:25

David Eigenberg

cyteen · 23/04/2009 22:26

What is going on with Carter then? I only caught the last 10 minutes...

TheOldestCat · 23/04/2009 22:30

Cyteen - your guess is as good as ours! He came back, enigmatically mentioning he was in Chicago to do a 'few things' and wanted to do some shifts at the ER. He's opening his medical (research?) centre, named after his son, and - apparently - on dialysis.

OonaghBhuna · 23/04/2009 22:32

Im glad hes back, one of the originals, feel sad that the show is coming to an end
How many more episodes are left?

TheOldestCat · 23/04/2009 22:38

I just glanced at the official website and there are about five, although don't quote me on that as it was a very quick glance indeed (didn't want to come across any spoilers...).

I feel sad too, OonaghBhuna. Have loved the show from the start and feel quite protective of Carter. [sad in the pathetic sense emoticon]

OonaghBhuna · 23/04/2009 22:45

I have watched it from the start too, I feel quite sentimental about it. I suppose its the only programme I have ever watched continously through the years.I felt sad tonight, maybe its my hormones (26 wweeks pregnant)The brushing off the snow and when he was asked if he worked with Dr Greene
I missed the episode where he appeared. Oh Im pathetic!

TheOldestCat · 23/04/2009 22:47

No you're not pathetic! Well, if you are, I am too - an I haven't got the hormones going on.

You must must must see the Dr Greene episode, it was fab. Although maybe after you've had the baby (congrats by the way) and are feeling less hormonal as it was very moving.

I actually feel a bit about all the 'new' docs and nurses in it when one of the old guard shows up. Now that's sad...

Poledra · 23/04/2009 23:31

I hadn't realised how much the staff had changed till Carter showed up tonight. But Luca, Abby, Pratt - all gone.

Can't believe there's only 5 episodes left

bea · 24/04/2009 10:53

i love carter... watched it from the beginning but stoppped when carter left... then a whole new bunch of faces came and i kind of lost the pplot... literally! but have started watching again as it's the last series and also am ashamed to say have read spoilers... i will say no more... but very very glad he's back... and thinking about mark greene makes me well up and i';m not even hormonal!

OonaghBhuna · 24/04/2009 15:34

I will watch that episode....I had started watching it but when I realized it was about her son who I knew had died I switched off. I didnt realize it was the episode with Mark Greene, i could have kicked myself when I found out!

Anyway I was wondering about Carter, I remembered his stabbing, many years ago, was this the cause of his kidney failure?

cyteen · 24/04/2009 18:13

God, that episode with the flashbacks to Angela Bassett's son made me howl I love a good ER cry.

flimflammum · 24/04/2009 19:59

They certainly know how to tug on the old heartstrings, in that montage of poignant scenes with no dialogue and Coldplay as soundtrack kind of way.

Aah, Carter. Maybe he got hepatitis in Africa?

Another hormonal pregnant ER fan here. Sobbed at several episodes this season. Due date is actually same as last episode is airing.

itchyandscratchy · 25/04/2009 23:20

Am in denial about it ending. Dh has tried to make me face up to it by buying me the first series on DVD for Mothers day. He's spent the last few years buying me all the Sex in the City box sets and I've worked through them twice. Time to start on ER when this series ends.

OonaghBhuna · 30/04/2009 23:04
