Fantastic! First time I have seen it. laughed at Stavros, he was great!

JackBauer · 17/04/2009 21:52

I love Simons face at about 4 mins into that clip where he just sighs. Beautiful voice.

And have never seent hat Stavros thing, am glad Dh and his BM are still in the pub as I am belly laughing at that.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 17/04/2009 21:56

I've just been watching it over and over again. Keep welling up. How nasty were the audience though?

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 17/04/2009 21:57

And the judges at first. Even afetrwards I thought she looked upset when Piers said people were laughing at her and Amanda said everyone was against her. She looked suprised and upset. Did they have to point that out to her?

Ripeberry · 17/04/2009 22:01

Is it just me? First time i watched Susan Boyle and i cried! Just so beautifull.

Tortoise · 17/04/2009 22:03

Am i the only one who doesn't like Stavros Flatley? Didn't find it funny at all.

chequersmate · 17/04/2009 22:09

I've never watched BGT so forgive me.

Beautiful voice and all but wtf will Simon Cowell do with her?

Tout her as an Elaine Paige for the recession era I guess...

Doodle2U · 17/04/2009 22:10

I think Stavros & Son appealed to me because I know the real Michael Flatly - his family comes from the same place as mine in Ireland - big ponce, so he is!

Susan though - man, her voice is amazing. I was reading about her today - apparently, Amanda is saying no big make-over for her because 'we' love her exactly as she is. I believe she's dedicated her whole life to looking after her mother, so I'm thinking a lovely big pamper/make-over might be just what she would love, TBH!

Having been made to sit through agonising repeats of riverdance with my DN, I thought Stavros was funny.

Doodle2U · 17/04/2009 22:12

Elaine Paige for the 'Dearer Era'!

I think the big prize is getting to perform at the Royal Variety Performance, so Cowell doesn't need to do anything much with her and I also feel she'd be dead chuffed with just getting to sing at the big doo!

I found a link to a recording of a CD she made for charity about 10 years ago, where she sings "Cry Me a River". Do listen, it's just amazing!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI2DxkrgpgQ

I think it's much better than "I Dreamed A Dream"

chequersmate · 17/04/2009 22:16

I found that clip utterly creepy actually.

Nasty contemptuous faces and body languages from the three school bullies judges.

Then winsome looks and fake tears once the pound signs start flashing before their eyes.

But I may be biased on account of wanting to beat both Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden into a pulp.

Doodle2U · 17/04/2009 22:19

Cry Me a River - stunning as well. Blimey, who knew???!

Did anyone see the article/comment in Grauniad the other day? Basically saying she will win and we will all say how good we are voting in someone 'unpretty' and then go on prejudging people and leanring fuck all

myredcardigan · 17/04/2009 22:50

Doodle2U,I've just bumped my earlier thread so you could click on my 'cry me a river' link but I see you've already heard it now.
