Anyone watching 'The Girl in the Box' on Channel 5 now???

Am watching it half-heartedly but is very, very strange. This girl was allowed home after X years but didn't say anything to her family about what she'd been doing for the last X years or whatever. After only 24 hours he came and took her back AND SHE WENT WITH HIM ... to spend, apparently, THREE YEARS IN A BOX under this man (and his wife's) waterbed.

Should really turn it off because am hurling abuse at the television ... might have missed something BUT ... why on EARTH did this crazy woman return to this crazy saddist's house?????

Think there must be something a bit wrong with 'Coleen' ... she had chances to escape (which is one thing) but to ACTUALLY BE AT HOME WITH HER FAMILY AND THEN 'VOLUNTARILY' LEAVE with this weirdo bloke ... very, very odd.

Oh ... and now she's written him love letters ...

She was broken Snowstorm..when she was kidnapped she was a child...don't you get it?..they made her believe something that was a lie as soon as she was told otherwise she left (thank god she wasn't on the jury)

By the time she was allowed home she had already been completely brainwashed by him. If I remember correctly she was held by him a total of 7 years. I think it was around 6 years into it that she was allowed to visit her family but she was completely changed by then and was very subservient to him. Its hard for us to comprehend but apparently there are certain ways to systematically brainwash someone and that is what was done to her.

I think I read about the case recently when I was looking up Stockholm syndrome. I would have watched this if I had realised it was on.
