Is there anyone who could possible record me Skellig tomorrow night on Sky 1 and transfer it onto video or DVD? I read the book with my very low ability English group and they'd love to see an adaptation of it. I can send a video/DVD and will of course send you postage costs.

Thanks for a cheeky Eastertime request

I would happily do that fatzak but have NO idea how you would get a prog from Sky to DVD? If someone could tell me how to do that it's not a problem!

Phoenix · 11/04/2009 21:04

Dh says he will

Phoenix · 11/04/2009 21:05

He's put it onto sky+ now so we don't forget then he'll put it on a disc for you.

How are you doing, love the pics on Facebook the camper looked cool

Caz10 · 11/04/2009 21:27

Oh good, someone more techie and useful than me!

Phoenix · 11/04/2009 21:49

I haven't got a clue how to get them to disc but dh has done it before

Caz10 · 11/04/2009 21:56

If you get a chance Phoenix please do post how he does it? I'd quite often like to use things for school but haven't known how to transfer them. No problems if not!

Caz10 - you need a dvd recorder or vcr.

Right DH is showing me how to do it as i'm typing lol.

Go to your Sky+ planner. Turn on your dvd/vcr and put a disc/tape in.

You need to make sure the Sky+ planner menu appears on your dvd screen when you're on the dvd channel iykwim (on our dvd remote he presses 'recording source' til the picture comes up)

Once that appears highlight the programme you want to record, press red for copy, after a few seconds it will say 'press select to copy' at the bottom, then an info box comes up and tells you to make sure record is pressed on your dvd/vcr. That's it but you need to watch that programme while it records or watch normal tv, just don't turn your Sky+ off or over.

Hope that helps, sorry if i don't make sense

Thanks Fatzak, bump is doing fine, roll on the next 14wks . i finish work in 3wks and can't wait (6wks leave and ML from 35wks)

That makes perfect sense, thank you! We don't have a DVD recorder or VCR but are thinking of a DVD recorder so will save instructions for future use! Very clever, thank you!!

Enjoy your mat leave!
