Would it disturb your daughter if you had a tv in the bedroom? If the noise would keep her awake, maybe you could have headphones?

Last nights episode was a bit better than the 1st episode. I have to watch tonight just to see how it ends!

Flamesparrow · 13/04/2009 09:41

Well I think I enjoyed it overall

sockmonkey · 13/04/2009 10:30

I think it all came good in the end... was worried by end of first episode that it would just be rubbish, but loved how it ended.

(have been enjoying watching the old ones shown after. Hope they show Queeg.

Flamesparrow · 13/04/2009 10:38

I think that the despair squid was one of their best creations in general

TsarChasm · 13/04/2009 10:54

Oh haven't watched this yet. Dh and I loved RD in it's heyday, but imo it went off the boil in the last series or so.

We often quote fron it though..'Better than Life' was one of my favourites.

Dh always says he feels like Rimmer when he's in the car and the dc are playing up (when Rimmer couldn't wish for nice things to happen)

TrillianEAstraEgg · 13/04/2009 22:00

Just seen it now. DP didn't like it very much but I didn;t mind it. I quite like silly self-referentialness though.

Did anyone else pick up on them referring to things that happened in 'series 9'? There was no series 9.

What did happen in series 8? I got a bit lost.

Flamesparrow · 14/04/2009 09:52

I liked the referring to fictional season 9 - it meant that they didn't have to start wherever 8 left off (can't remember, planned to rewatch before seeing the new ones but ran out of time).

My favourite was landing in the sixties and cocking up Kennedy's assassination. Then trrying to put it right. Brilliant.

Watched the 3 episodes last night and then the making of it. I noticed Rob Grant wasn't involved so maybe was 'lacking' because of it? In the making of it programme the cast kept on and on about how marvellous the script and everything was . Landing in Corrie was the only time I smiled, especially when the three of them went into the corner shop and starting speaking their version of 'native'. LOL

Flamesparrow · 14/04/2009 10:13

It was after Rob Grant quit that it all went a bit tits up really It was then that Lister got clean etc.

Oh MrsGok - Priscilla was amazing

TrillianAstra · 14/04/2009 10:29

I actually laughed a few times.

It might have been better to film it in front of an audience, it's easier to laugh along with people than to laugh on your own.

A few times they did just look like they were showing off: look, we can do special effects that aren't made of paper mache any more!
