Damages - anyone else watching? So this week...

it seems to suggest that the person we've seen Ellen shooting (at) several times is Patty - but surely that's far too straight for Damages?

So who else is it likely to be?!

Am enjoying this series, although thought the last one was better.....

Hi, I'm watching and really enjoying this. I missed the first series though, so not fully sure about the plot all of the time I might check out finding series one to catch up a bit.

I love the theme tune too

willali · 08/04/2009 08:47

BIIIGGGG fan here. Agree it is too "easy" for the victim to be Patty. Claire - you MUST get the first series as you will have no idea what is going on - it all links up so you need to see every moment from the first episode for it to make sense

I wish Ellen woudl open the bleeding box....

SouthernMeerkat · 08/04/2009 09:36

Phew - I thought I was the only one watching it!

Claire, agree with Willali - you need to get the first series - it's all intertwined....

I wish she would open the box too, but I also wish they'd stop time shifting quite so much - it's really difficult to keep track!

For instance, at the end of the week before last we saw the beardy cop sneaking into Ellen's appartment whilst she was having a shower - and there was no reference to it this episode....perhaps that's who she ends up shooting and Patty is there too?!

Loooooove Damages! I think the first series was even better but you definitely have to watch it before this one. Glenn Close is amazing. There's no point in trying to second guess the plot although I find myself doing just that every Sunday!
The actress who plays Ellen has got really thin and seems to have lost her tweezers!

GossipMonger · 08/04/2009 13:13

ooh I love this too!

so many twists and turns.

chocolepew · 08/04/2009 13:14

I said to DH that 'Ellen' had gotten very thin. His reply? "Well her finacee (sp) was murdered." I wonder if he thinks it's a documentary [grin.

claireinthecommunity · 08/04/2009 23:25

Willali & SouthernMeerkat, I will get hold of the first series. With all the time shifting and not seeing the first series it's been a little confusing at times! But still very enjoyable.

I thought Ellen was rather thin too, but not as thin as the blonde escort/high class call girl

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/04/2009 15:46

waves to southernmeerkat

saw your kiddiwinks yesterday - mine and yours had a fab time

I love damages

have watched since 1st epidsode series 1

i think she is shooting at arther Frubishier-dont forget he killed her fiance

itchyandscratchy · 09/04/2009 15:55

WHEN I AM THROUGH WITH YOU... THERE WON'T BE ANYTHING LEFT....

I love Damages. How many episodes have we got to go? Can't think that Ellen will have killed Patti but loved seeing Patti sweat at the end of the last episode. I think Ted Danson is playing the part of his life; Arthur Frobisher is so pathetic and f*cked up. Brilliant character.

I keep wincing when I see that wedding present box - keep imagining it's that Statue of Liberty ornament that David was killed with. It's so spiky and horrible - YAK

willali · 09/04/2009 17:51

My vote would be for Frobisher to get it too! I can't quite buy the "Road to Enlightenment " thing he's doing right now - there must be a hidden agenda methinks

MrsBoo · 09/04/2009 18:01

I love Damages - its the best thing on TV at the moment.
It really cant be Patti that she shoots - too straightforward
Agree, Ellen is tooo skinny at the moment

MaryAnnSailors · 09/04/2009 18:16

It's great!

What do you reckon beardy cop is hiding in the closet and shoots Ellen? Can't shoot Patti or there would be no chance of another series.

Ellen/Rose Byrne has lost lots of weight this series. Heath Ledger and her were good friends, they certainly started out together. so some very unfortunate method acting there maybe?

itchyandscratchy · 09/04/2009 21:20

Good idea about weirdy beardy cop hiding in apartment. Wasn't the undercover boyfriend around that night as well? Maybe he'll do the decent thing and save Rose

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/04/2009 18:30

or could be shooting the bloke from her meetings (the one who killed uncle pete)

sure it cant be patti

MaryAnnSailors · 11/04/2009 10:23

that makes sense, Blondes.

i'm now imagining a reservoir dogs stand off between Ellen, Beardy cop, Undercover BF, and Uncle Pete killer... maybe throw in Frobisher and Patti's son for the fun of it.

... it's got a lot to live up to now.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/04/2009 13:50

just need mr green and mr white now - pmsl

its on tomorrow

dances

jodee · 13/04/2009 21:37

Was hoping there was a Damages thread - so what about last night's episode? Why isn't Tom allowed in the building 2 months later? Could ellen be shooting therapy boyfriend now they are lovers/now beardy man has told boyfriend (what is his name?) to bump her off?

why does cocaine-snorting trader have to jump into a car to get co-ordinates to somewhere????

confused ... but best thing on TV!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/04/2009 14:59

im puzzled about the coordinates in car

jodee thats what i said - might be the boyfriend/meetings bloke

MaryAnnSailors · 19/04/2009 17:38

do the coordinates say when to sell stocks and such? i don't know...

tonight!

nancy75 · 19/04/2009 18:44

the co ordinates are what stocks to buy/sell i think. i guess tom's not allowed in because patti thinks he went to the fbi, as his siter told him there was no file, she probably finds out there is and thinks he is hiding stuff.

SouthernMeerkat · 20/04/2009 09:09

I completely forgot I started a thread!! Hello everyone - waves back to BHMF!

I am going to watch last night's tonight (as long as it's recorded!) so no doubt will have more questions then.

I think that Tom is going to have panicked about the FBI being involved and offered them something on the firm/Patti which he thinks is innocuous but is part of the web of intrigue that will have larger consequences. Or something. As someone else said, it's a waste of time second guessing it!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 21/04/2009 09:42

watched sundays last night

was there any point to it

and who did ellen kill, as its not patti

maybe ellen shot herself?

SouthernMeerkat · 21/04/2009 13:04

Hi BHMF!

I think that last night was important as it set Claire up to defect from Kendrick and UNR but I agree it wasn't a classic episode!

No idea who Ellen shot, but I hope it wasn't herself - that would turn her into a victim and I don't believe that she wants to see herself like that....my money is on Wes or the weirdy beardy guy.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/04/2009 14:32
