Caught 5 mins of it today, I remember him from my daytime tv days . He's quite posh, presents property programmes, hmm...nice.....

It could be Homes in the Country or something along those lines

oh I think I know who you mean... Alistair something???

LadyPinkofPinkerton · 06/04/2009 20:09

Either Alistair Appleton or possible Jules something or other. Alistair is youngish and cute, Jules a bit older with rosy cheeks

fartmeistergeneral · 06/04/2009 20:09

He certainly looks like an Alistair!

About 30ish, no rosy cheeks though!!!

Alastair "I can outcamp anyone on the BBC, even Evan Davies" Appleton. I was pissing myself laughing at his version of what the posh country gentleman wears on today's programme. I find him quite watchable, I expect he would be quite high maintenance as a friend (or even a dinner guest) though.

fartmeistergeneral · 06/04/2009 20:12

Lol, yes, I was laughing that they dressed him as a country gent!! Why would they do that????!!

Is he camp? Not....gay? As if it would make any difference to me, he's not coming knocking at my door.

I would let him in, for the record.

He's quite Ben Fogle-ish too isn't he?

Tinker · 06/04/2009 20:13

What do we think about Christian Digby? To Camp of not to Camp? I think he's lovely but suspect I'd be disappointed

fartmeistergeneral · 06/04/2009 20:15

Christian! Hang on, think I might be confusing the two of them. Is he quite posh too? He's dyslexic, did you know (how do I know these things??!)

Double post! Now a third, sorry.

I think he is gay, although I can't say I've ever heard or read anything either way. But not all gay men are camp, just as not all camp men are gay, and he is definitely one of the campest men on TV IMO. I think he's camper even than Gok, as he seems to do it entirely unconsiously whereas I get the impression that Gok camps himself up to be more interesting.

I do like campness, it's easy to watch and very amusing. I would love to surround myself with camp gay friends, but all my gay friends seem to turn the campness volume way down when they're with me (and turn it way up again if DH is around ).

I just love his poshness. I can imagine him wearing a cravat.

pointydog · 06/04/2009 20:29

fartmeistergeneral · 06/04/2009 20:30

Mmm, I love Alistair Appleton. I worked with a guy who looked and sounded identical to him.

fartmeistergeneral · 06/04/2009 20:37

I even love his name. Appleton!! How fab, it suits him! Mr Appleton and his cravat.

pointydog · 06/04/2009 20:40

fartmeistergeneral · 06/04/2009 20:40

He seems shallow and duplicitous to me

fartmeistergeneral · 06/04/2009 20:42

Oh I don't think I'd like the thought of him reassuring me in bed! That's it darling (cos he would deffo say darling), you're doing JUST fine..
