Monty Hall - what a nincompoop!

Have watched the whole series:

watched him:

not shoot a deer
not catch fish
not win the raft race
not put up a fence
not put the roof on his house
and, perhaps most tellingly:

not spend a winter in the highlands.

And I bet he didn't install the wood burning stove either.

He did climb the In Pin, but as it was filmed in the middle of a cloud, we have to take his word for that, really .

In fact, not do much at all really except swan around talking about 'the crofters of old' and doping a bit of diving/zooming about on his boat/drinking cappuccino. What was the point of that series?

Send him back to Beachcomber's Cottage in November and give me my licence fee's worth, BBC!

PMSL you are sooo right.

We started watching it, but when his idea of getting back to nature and roughing it involved taking his fecking cafetiere along with him and living in spitting distance of the nearest village and as you say, going home in November......not exactly top survival stuff is it?

He struck me as maybe not being the sharpest knife in the drawer either and just a wee bit patronising to the people who do struggle to carve out a living in remote places like that.

After two episodes I thought that the best thing that could happen was a storm of the force that created his training sand "dune" to come along and wash his bijou little shack out to sea!!

Oh glad it's not just me. Farkin nonsense. He seemed to just pay everyone else to do stuff for him. The first episode was hilarious. 'Now I need to build a fence...right...here are the people who are going to build the fence...good job guys, I'll leave you to it.'

And why exactly did he have the sheep? So they could live in his field for 6 months and then go back to where they came from in the first place, it seems.

I laugh, but it gave such a rose-tinted view of life in that sort of community.

Oh, and I forgot to add not see an otter. Or catch a trout.

Twunt.
