I was out yesterday so missed it. Are they going to repeat it later on in the week or on BBC2,3,4,5,6 etc?

Never read the books but I really enjoyed this - refreshing and different from anything else that's been on recently.

Am interested to know what readers of the books think - has it translated well to TV?

Think it's translated very well to TV. Am ususally disappointed when i've read the book first, but not with this.

I think it is translated very well from the books. I have all the books several times over and love them as light, pleasant "cheery-up type" books. The program is just the same. I am recording them all so I can watch them over and over when I am in a bad mood!

It is quite a good adaptation, Jill Scott is a far better Motswana than I would have thought too

Alexander McCall Smith is lovely, and slightly nuts.

I met him as a child when he wrote children's books. He was so nice if rather crazy and was giving out £5 and £10 for answering questions, he was extremely popular with my class of course.
