And getting increasingly gobsmacked by it?

what are you gobsmaked at? spying on neighbours, nudist camps or the fanstastic maternity and childcare provision. Half of my family are Eastern European so not surprised by it.

southeastastra · 14/03/2009 21:50

communism is very interesting though isn't it, i have two friends that grew up with it and sort of miss the collectiveness of it. mind boggles

RoobeeToozdae · 14/03/2009 21:50

They don't half like to flash what they've got!

tattycoram · 14/03/2009 21:50

It's good isn't it.

tattycoram · 14/03/2009 21:51

Cross posts! Wasn't particularly referring to all the nudity

abraid · 14/03/2009 21:52

Hardly a day passes when I do not thank my lucky stars that I didn't grow up in a communist state. The more I discover, the more grateful I am. Notwithstanding maternity provison.

HerBeatitudeLittleBella · 14/03/2009 22:06

I don't know really. Just how very wicked the communist party was, I suppose.

communism could never work, scary how so many followed it though

HerBeatitudeLittleBella · 14/03/2009 22:17

capitalism hasn't ever really worked either though.

But mostly it hasn't been quite as repressive and simply unpleasant as what called itself communism.

Karl Marx would never have recognised it btw. I really don't think he would have called the East German model communism.

what did he call china?

BigGitDad · 14/03/2009 22:20

It's not communism though is it it's Totalitarianism.
I'm not even watching the programme!

HerBeatitudeLittleBella · 14/03/2009 22:21

What did who call China?
