Becky looks far too thin. They really ought to have given her something else to wear.

I've watched first part, but second is recorded. I love Becky. she has always been thin, but seems to have got even thinner over the last month.

Nabster · 14/03/2009 10:00

I agree.

I thought she looked lovely, a bit too skinny around the neck though.

Was really disappointed with the wedding tbh. Would of been nice to just have a happy wedding for once.

boolean · 16/03/2009 10:40

That wedding episode was total rubbish - except for the bit in the actual room, where Roy had to steer her about. Very disappointing. But then again the Street has gone so downhill in recent years it breaks my heart (yes, I care about it that much!)

Thank god for Blanche, that's all I can say.

clarebear1 · 16/03/2009 12:09

I was too let down with the wedding, who on earth would let her carry on drinking der!!!!

KingRolo · 16/03/2009 16:30

It was ridiculous, but I didn't expect much better considering the utter stupidity of the Becky / Steve storyline.

Second what boolean said about Blanche - best Corrie character by a mile. "Sold to the lady in the beige coat"!!

themoon66 · 16/03/2009 21:23

Blanche is ace. As is Eileen.

PuppyMonkey · 16/03/2009 21:25

I absolutely HATE that Becky has got together with Steve. I don't like them together, even though I love both of them apart. I'm already bored to tears by them, I hope they don't drag it on now.

itchyandscratchy · 16/03/2009 21:39

agree with boolean - dh and I heart Corrie but the steve and becky wedding has been proper rubbish and embarrassing. they are both such dreadful over-actors with their gurning faces. and if I see her chomping on his face again when she snogs him I think I will retch.

agree that blanche is fab - she gets the best lines. Can't wait to see what she says about Ken when the Martha storyline is revealed (altho will that take a turn now? I expect Bill Roache will have quite a bit of time off after his wife dying )

KingRolo · 17/03/2009 17:17

I wonder if Ken and Martha will now sail off into the sunset along the Manchester Ship Canal? They could eat scrambled egg with chives and parmesan every day!

Nabster · 17/03/2009 17:20

itchy - he took 2 weeks off and I think the Martha story line was his first scene. I posted a while ago about something he said and it made me catch my breath having just lost his wife. Clearly that particular scene was filmed before she died though.

I think blanches best line so far was about leanne and Peter : "I know you two are a bit fond of the dark side"

verygreenlawn · 17/03/2009 18:04

Blanche is wonderful, my DH hates soaps with a passion but is prepared to watch Corrie solely in the hope of seeing a "Blanche Moment".

itchyandscratchy · 17/03/2009 18:45

Blanche quotes from the ages:

"Good looks are a curse, Deirdre. You and Kenneth should count yourselves lucky."

[about Liz McDonald] "Skirt no bigger than a belt, too much eyeliner, and roots as dark as her soul!"

"Get a wriggle on. I can feel me kidneys shrivelling up. You don't want that on ya conscience, do ya?"
[Blanche trying to persuade Leanne to get her a drink from the vending machine in the bookies]

Dierdre: "Did you not enjoy it then, mother?"
Blanche: "It keeps me regular"
Blanche talking to Deirdre about the baked potato she's just eaten

"Let's hope he's not simple. That could lead to some dreadful nicknames..."
Blanche talking about Peter's son, Simon

She's pure class

KingRolo · 20/03/2009 09:52

I like the line about Roy and Hayley not neing able to adopt a child "what with him being a loony and her being a man".

KingRolo · 20/03/2009 09:52

being!
