I find myself singing them all the time, especially that flipping 'Baby Jordan' one at the end. I wake up in the night singing it.

Arrrrrghhhhhghh.....

LOL I have the same problem

wilkos · 13/03/2009 20:02

me tpp

baby jordan baby jordan jump jump jump like jordan...

how sad we are

wilkos · 13/03/2009 20:03

err - me too

spikemomma · 13/03/2009 20:23

That, and the night garden. All day, all night. Consciously, sub consciously. My dd sings it all the time and i'm not sure who started it. Me or her. I used to be cool...

Even worse, i was queing in the supermarket when i randomily joined in the theme tune to thomas the tank engine. When i turned around it was a huge big black guy, who had no idea he was singing it. We both stopped, gave each other that knowing, i can't help, myself look and then pretended we didn't have children and stood in awkward silence.

So, it's not just you. Children's tunes infect the brain, until Coldplay and Muse are but a distant memory.

I HATE 3rd and Bird, and I don't say that about a lot of things in life !

It is SO SO annoying, all that baby jordan stuff, and I hate the way muffin speaks, she irritates me beyond belief !

My dds cannot understand why I hate it so much, I have to leave the room, and they love it.

Love the nightgarden though - that intro makes me feel lovely and sleepy and peaceful.......

spicemonster · 13/03/2009 20:29

That bloody baby jordan song is stuck in my head and I loathe 3rd and bird

jumble · 13/03/2009 20:36

Oh don't get me started on this one! dds nearly 5 and 3.9 and they love it. only problem is the moronic speech patterns of Muffin, which BOTH dds have adopted, eg regressed from "can I have a drink please mummy?", to "jessy firsty. jessy want juice" try and make sure they are busy doing something else when it's on, only older one is getting to grips with telling the time and tells me "mummy, itis nearly time for 3rd and bird" AAAAAAARGH!

lalalonglegs · 13/03/2009 20:59

Not only do I find myself singing it all the time but dd then corrects me and insists his name is Baby Gordon which irritates me even more. Does anything actually happen in it? I honestly don't remember a single episode just the wretched Baby Jordan tune. It just seems like (singing) wallpaper.

Chatkins · 13/03/2009 21:01

it does always seem to be the same episode.

Muffin is upset or jealous and whining about something.

dustbuster · 13/03/2009 21:09

At first I thought it was cute, but now all the clunking messages about sharing and trying your hardest irritate the hell out of me.

dragonbutter · 13/03/2009 21:10

......just like baby jordan!!!

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhh!

solidgoldbrass · 13/03/2009 21:13

I have posted several times about how much I hate Turd and Bird. Just remember that classic recipe of wren-stuffed-in-duck-stuffed-in-chicken-stuffed-in-turkey-stuffed-in-farking-golden-eagle-and-roast ed and think of it every time another twatty little moral is shoved at you...

liath · 13/03/2009 21:22

I always picture them exploding like that bird in Shrek when Pricess Fiona sings at it.

"Do de muffin, de muffin"

"squark"

!

Feathers drift down.

I hate that damn programme.

MollieO · 13/03/2009 22:03

Is it a foreign programme that has been dubbed into English? It makes absolutely no sense but ds loves it. I keep telling him that, at aged 4, he is old enough to know better.

DP watched it for the first time and said it reminded him of the computer game duck hunt!!

PixelHerder · 13/03/2009 22:16

lol at Baby Gordon...

Agree Muffin's voice is particularly annoying and just wrong - her speech patterns and vocab just don't add up to any kind of authentic toddler-speak.

But then she is a bird and not a toddler of course. And a cartoon bird who was probably scripted by some hairy-faced loon who hasn't actually ever met a real child.

But the songs are truly brain-infecting, it's bad bad bad. And evil.

AngeChica · 13/03/2009 23:31

We call it turd and bird.

solidgoldbrass · 14/03/2009 01:00

Gaaahhh! 'Muffin thad... Muffin no like..' Muffin demented crackhead, Muffin thpit-roathted, muffin stuff head up arse and whistle....

PixelHerder · 14/03/2009 18:39

Did I just hear that right, did Rudy just say to Samuel "you'll make a brilliant bottom chum" (in ref to being the back end of a panto horse, in case you're interested)

He did I swear. Turd and Bird is going up very slightly in my estimation for having fnaaar fnaaar asides (assuming it was an intentional double entendre of course, who knows).

poppy34 · 14/03/2009 18:43

you are not alone.. see earlier thread get the shotguns ready

muffin is particularly irritating

and am glad that I am not the only one who has been brainwashed by the thomas songs (don't remember the bit in teh books when I was going on when random stage school kids screached songs about the engines).

poppy34 · 14/03/2009 18:43

and will have to listen harder pixel to see if you;re right..may have to reappraise the lame script writing if there are pugwash type asides.

PixelHerder · 14/03/2009 19:17

It was a very camp episode altogether (featuring cowgirls, panto horses, giving rides etc) - look out for it, it will no doubt be on again next week. The double-entendres may ease the pain of fecking Muffin and her affectedly-missing consonants.

lol at the shotgun / clubbing to death thread!

poppy34 · 14/03/2009 19:23

I was also glad someone agreed with my dislike of charlie/lola (I got told on another thread that my dsc must be perfect if I found lola annoying and precious )..

I'd be keen to see the third and bird where muffin gets bird flu..

elkiedee · 14/03/2009 19:27

It irritates me when dp starts singing it to ds1! But non-stop Cbeebies drives me crazy after a while whatever programme, and I really don't like In the Night Garden either.
