Just read that BBC2 have picked up all series of The Wire. Just watching S3 now, can't wait to see the rest of it.

OMG it is brilliant - we've just finished the final series on DVD. I don't think I could watch them on a weekly basis - it's one of those shows that works much better on DVD - I think because it is so intense!

I think they are going to run them nightly though..I know it's way to intense for a weekly wait!

I loved S1 and S2 but can't get into S3.

It just feels so disjointed. I've only watched the first 2 eps but am going to have to force myself to 'get into it' and hopefully will begin to care all over again!

Can't be doing with that silly story about the lesbian couple with the baby - wtf. Also just can't see how they can develop McNulty and Bunk any further. They are what they are.

just wait Morris - and stick with it - I won't give any spoilers but it is worth the effort!

Series 2 and 4 were the best IMO

S2 was sublime. I loved Nicky from the docks and his Uncle Frank.

Was gutted that abandoned the whole story in S3.

Well - keep watching - you might just see Nicky again

I really liked 3 but loved 4. Series 2 was my least fave. Series 5 lost its' way but did round things up.

Series 4 was the best imo but possibly the most tragic, series 3 is a bit difficult to get into it but persevere. Spent a lot of 5 thinking it wasn't as good but think it redeemed itself in the last few episodes.

I am soooo jealous of anyone who hasn't seen The Wire yet, hands down best ever tv, ever!!

Oh looooove The Wire. I'm only up to series three. I wonder if it's one of these things that's even better the second time around because there's just so much to "get" iyswim.

i've just looked at the listings for the next few weeks... BBC2 are splurging the wire FIVE NIGHTS a week from the 30th March.

dh and I are on the final episode of Series 3, and having read the last few posts can't wait to watch Series 4 now.

Think they've gradually ruined the theme tune tho 'Down in the hole'. It was best on S1.

It's fantastic! DH was given the first box set as a Christmas present and we stayed up far too late every night for a week watching it. It is exceptional.

i can't wait to see it all again, i've only watched it once. lolol at the theme tune ruination. it's SO shit.
