I thought it was good too - the little inserts about the malarial children made me cry though

I can't believe Cheryl Cole made it to the top though - she looked like a high wind would snap her in half!

2shoes · 12/03/2009 21:58

I felt for her band mate as we never saw her.
chris moyles suprised me

Me too, I wasn't sure he was really motivated but he did amazingly well.

Who was the other girl that didn't feature much? (my sleb knowledge is limited)

flourybaps · 12/03/2009 22:01

I thought it was great, very moving. Have given my £5.00. I thought they did fabulously well.

Wasn't it good! I let the ds's stay up to watch it and ds2 who's 7, was horrified by the clips of the children. Really indignant that they didn't have mosquito nets, bless him.

It was the other girl (not Alesha or Fearne) that I didn't know. Is she from GA then?

MaureenMLove · 12/03/2009 22:10

OK, dumb question alert. Brace yourselves!

Did they have to walk all the way back down again or did they send a helicopter at least to meet them half way?

See, told you it was dumb!

wouldn't it be good if Chris Moyles feel down a ravine

Sidge · 12/03/2009 22:13

Ta herbietea!

MaureenMLove · 12/03/2009 22:13

Thankyou!

2shoes · 12/03/2009 22:14

MaureenMLove I wondered that

OP posts:
5inthebed · 12/03/2009 22:15

I was wondering the same myself. Me and my DH and dad were arguing discussing, and I said they would have sent a helicopter as it was an 8 day climb, but they were back in the UK a few days after. The "men" said that helicopters cant fly that high up and wouldn't hear my "it would have flown as high as it could" cries.

I think I was right

Fern Cotton, bless her, got on my nerves a tad. Bit of a drama queen, but at least she made it to the top.

MaureenMLove · 12/03/2009 22:15

SEA! You are making me laugh tonight! I've seen a couple of your posts. They are so dry and to the point! I can almost hear myself saying them too!

5inthebed · 12/03/2009 22:15

Oh, just read herbieteas post

Oh well, won't tell them

Bet they walked down. I did Kili in December with the same company, Charity Challenge on the same route. First, there's really no other way off. Second, it doesn't actually take that long to walk - we were on the summit at 10am on Thursday and walking out of the gates of the national park at 12 noon on Friday. Some of the shots were clearly the descent. And finally because the oxygen levels increase with every step down that you take, you feel fantastic all the way down. Drunk, almost. The way down is easy, IME.
