Diet coke ad with Duffy.... Does anybody else want to rip their own head off every time they hear it?

How brain meltingly awful is her voice on this?

Is it just me who HATES this advert? I cannot stand her generally but this ad is something else.

Pish.

1st time I saw it, I stared open mouthed in disbelief

2nd time I saw it, I watched the whole thing again because I was convinced I must have misheard/not understood etc. the first time

3rd time, I couldn't believe it was still airing and thought either my hearing had gone or a good proportion of the UK must have become tone deaf that the advertisers weren't overwhelmed with complaints

Diet coke = crime you get away with. Quite simple really.

Just watched it again, I didn't watch t properly the first time, I had to turn it off because of the cringe factor.

Only just realised it was for Diet Coke, thought it was a random advert for Sainsburys or some other supermarket

puts hands in the air and waves wildly. ME ME ME. I hate it, she sings through her nose and with a closed throat... aaiiiiii waaiiint to be freiiiiiii. urgh!

I would say the title of this thread applies to Duffy in general, not just her in the Diet Coke ad. I just don't 'get' her at all. I don't like her voice, it's weird.

No singer would be drinking coke during a performance, it wrecks your voice. When I was at UCE I used to spend time at The Conservatoire (the music campus) and coke wasn't available on site for that reason.

I knew it couldn't just be me who loathes Duffy, she really is proof that it's all about the way you look if you want to be a pop star these days, ability to sing is just not important it seems.

I sound like such an old woman when I listen to the radio now, I hate about 90% of what I hear. I'm only 31, not 80!
