Does anyone know if the contestants get a food budget? Or do they get paid back for whatever they spend? Or is it all their own money?

I saw a re-run where one man bought everything from Netto, whereas lots of contestants seem to go for very posh ingredients.

Any thoughts?

I don't think they do get a budget.

Sometimes I think that the winners of the grand have probably spent that on the meals for the four (or five) of them!

Did you see the beginning of tonight's? I missed it. Is it in Ashton?

I think that they get about 100 quid each. I seem to remember them speaking about a budget in earlier episodes. Though that was years ago so I guess that they would get more now.

What do you cook to spend the whole grand? Someone had a really expensive bit of beef once, but that was £70, you'd still have plenty left for champagne!

OK, I was just looking at the online TV guide adn thinking 'there's nothing on, why can't I watch House, it's not fair!'

they were already there but House wasn't actually having any patients till Wilson begged him to diagnose his cousin. It turned out not to be his cousin after all, but he solved the case.

It turns out that he recruited Foreman because he had a juvenile record and thought he would be handy for breaking into houses! He took on Chase because Chase's dad asked him to and he employed the girl because she's pretty! (because pretty girls don't have to work hard, they can marry a rich man, so the fact that she did work hard meant she was damaged and therefore interesting)

He already had a gammy leg as well, that's why he doesn't see patients, he thinks that nobody would want a disabled doctor.

And you're right, lou - voiceover man should have his own series. He is bloody hilarious. You know he is one of Angela's husbands in Corrie, don't you? Not Norris, not Keith Barron, the other one

So House had a whole team but didn't see patients? How/why did he expect to get paid, and what was he planning on doing with his 3 minions all day?

I like Hugh Laurie so much more when he is grumpy and unshaven

Just googled voiceover man Dave Lamb Was shocked as I recognise him & he is actually a comedian. Blardy funny - makes the programme for me.

I love Dave Lamb's voice overs. Now when I watch Come Dine With Me I can't forget how horrific the celebs were recently. The combination of Rodney Marsh, Lesley Joseph and Paul Ross was ghastly! I never thought Abi Titmuss was someone I'd feel particularly sorry for but they were foul to her!

Fabulous programme. All the fun of watching reality tv without having to worry about them ruining their lives like people do by going on Big Brother or Wifeswap.

Some of them are so rude, though. If I went for dinner in someone's house I would always pretend to like it.

oh yes i LOVED the preston one too!! that toothy woman when she was wrapping her leg round the pole dancer pole and her that fell asleep so the other bloke had to rustle up some fajitas!! oh how i laughed. best group ever.
