It's very good imho.

Whatever you think of MT, it's making me realise what an amazing thing she did becoming the first woman PM when society was still so completely sexist.

Yes I agree - all those men in suits. Was just wondering when we might have another female party leader...

It is indeed v good - actors spookily like the RL characters imo but not in a Rory Bremner way somehow.

Really enjoying it too. The Bernard Ingram character is his double!

sprinklycheese · 26/02/2009 22:21

Agree re Bernard.

Sadly DH has switched to the news and is recording it so I will have to watch the rest of it later/ tomorrow!

Wow that was good, loved all the westwing style fast walking and John Sessions was fantastic, a real suprise.
God i love politcal drama, may now have to get the westwing box set out.

zanz1bar · 26/02/2009 23:13

But once upon a time i could name every character and give their biog, tonight i spent most of the time shouting to Dh 'was that whats his name, you know the one , oh whats his name?'
Was the blubbing suit in the cabinet at the end supposed to be john gummer, settle a marital for me?

twinsetandpearls · 26/02/2009 23:17

Yes I think it was John Gummer, I really enjoyed it but was also struggling with the names. We saw Maggie the musical a few years ago which was also very good.

bagsforlife · 27/02/2009 08:31

Couldn't think who Norman Tebbit was, but it was Roy Marsden (policeman in P D James thing amongst others). Was excellent. John Sessions brilliant as Geoffrey Howe, as was whoever was playing Ken Clarke. It was John Gummer crying.....do you think he really did cry? How peculiar.

Had the weirdest dream last night after watching this - really vivid. I met MT on holiday and we became firm friends. Lots of detail I won't bore you with. How odd was that!?
