I've never met anyone in real life who watches them though I think MIL watches Casualty.

Are you all secretly watching them ?

LOL! I've heard some people even clean their own house too

Ambi · 24/02/2009 21:21

I used to watch them all, but now only corrie. I'm the opposite as I've never met anyone who doesn't watch them (men excluded) shows how low-brow I am

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 24/02/2009 21:24

I'm not posh at all just appear to be missing the soap opera watching gene/friends

and I do clean my own house
(bit of a lie as a secret slattern)

I watch Hollyoaks, Corrie, The Bill and Emmerdale if I don´t have anything else to do. I watch Eastenders and Waterloo Road religiously and will watch it on iplayer if i´ve missed it.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 24/02/2009 21:29

I guess cos I can relate to the characters.

RoobeeToozdae · 24/02/2009 21:31

My grandad and dad watch the soaps.

pagwatch · 24/02/2009 21:45

I don't watch any ofthem. They all lost me when they decided that people only express emotion by shouting and that the person who shouts the loudest wins.

I can't see the point in investing in something when you are never going to find out how it ends.
I have also never seen a person in a soap that seemed more than a two dimensional plot device. But thats probably me.

philopastry · 24/02/2009 22:08

Soaps used to be banned by my (otherwise very lovely kind and tolerant) dad when i was a kid. Not sure what he had against them but obviously I rebelled and spent hours watching them all as soon as i left home. Corrie and Eastenders were always my favourites. Have 'given them up' since having kids, my spare time is too precious to watch other people having domestics - would rather be having my own

Mummyfor3 · 24/02/2009 22:13

DH (a man, yes, really ) and I used to be addicted to East Enders - it took the upheaval of moving house to cure us of our terrible weakness! This was over 4 years ago, and if I now by chance see a little bit of EE I cannot for the life of me understand why I ever bothered . And NONE of the story lines seem to have changed... Janine is back even, WTF !!
What a waste of precious life time - much rather waste it on MN...

wrinklytum · 24/02/2009 22:14

I don't WATCH them but have a sad and secret addiction to The Archers even though it is totally crap.

llareggub · 24/02/2009 22:17

No soaps here either. Who does watch them?

blametheparents · 24/02/2009 22:18

Eastenders and Neighbours

dietstartstomorrow · 24/02/2009 22:19

I ALWAYS watch Corrie - I just love it. It's my time to have a rest and a cuppa.

I used to watch neighbours and EE, but gave them up when I had DS1. I figured I couldn't give them my full attention. Glad I did too, or I would get nothing done.

pingping · 25/02/2009 15:14

Wow I watch Hollyoaks Corrie Eastenders the Bill

I even watch the repeats on the weekend if there is nothing else on

LunarSea · 25/02/2009 15:25

I don't watch them. But being more of a radio person (I work from home so it can be deathly quiet at times during the day without it) I will confess that I do get to hear most episodes of the Archers.
