Law and Order UK anyone?

Will anyone be tuning in tonight?

I just know that I am going to be hugely disappointed! I love the US version (watch all the old repeats on Hallmark) and I just know its not going to be as good.

Love the US version too, but I'm really not sure about the UK one. Bradley Walsh is in it? WTF? I can't take that man seriously.
I had enough trouble getting used to "Dr Houseman" in the US L&O!

Dh and i have watched practically every episode of the us version- we had them all tivo'd off hallmark, is always great when we spot an ep we haven't seen. Jerry Orbach was brilliant- can't see how bradley walsh is going to measure up. i fear it will be too gritty, too 'Bill-ish' nad totally lack the humour of the the original. i hope to be wrong...

I heart Jack McCoy and dont think the guy from 'cutting it' will cut-it!

Well, it's on, but I'm not that impressed.
Sound effects the same, wonky camera work the say, plot line similar, but IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT!

Is it my imagination or are they all very ugly?

InTheScrum · 23/02/2009 21:30

It's just very different to previous UK police dramas. It's too dramatic!

Have just check Carbon Monoxide monitor though...

Yes - I don't like the sound which separates the scenes. It's annoying.

I didn't mind the sound on L&O US, but it seems out of place here.

PurplePillow · 23/02/2009 22:06

I didn't think it was so bad but still prefer L&O U.S. especially cold case and SVU.

Will give it a go though incase it grows on me (not much else on tonight at 9pm

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 23/02/2009 22:10

Sound effects aside I actually enjoyed this.

Frasersmum123 · 24/02/2009 07:35

I just think they are so close to the American show

Bradley Walsh = Lenny Briscoe
The other policeman = Ed Green (though not such a close match)
Female boss = Van Buran

Ben Daniels = Jack McCoy
Frema Agyeman = Serena Sutherland Etc

It wasnt too bad if you dont compare it to the US version, but it did seem a bit rushed. It was better than I expected.

Well, I've never seen the US version & I found this to be very different in style to other Britsh cop dramas. It was a bit worthy & sanctimonious & some of the dialogue came across like a re-enactment, especially between the two policemen.

Also, as soon as they fingered Turner the first time it was patently obvious the woman (property developer) was in league with him, so how it took them another half hour to realise that I do not know.

Not convinced, but I'll give it another go next week.
