Whatever happened to Laura's baby Bobby? I remember Gary being heartbroken and telling Ian to take responsibility and stop asking him to babysit but then what? And has anyone mentioned it since Gary's gone AWOL? He didn't just lose Lyn and her baby, he lost Laura's too when it turned out to be Ian's.

Bobby lives with Ian

SugaryBits · 16/02/2009 20:13

Bobby is with Ian & Jane afaik

LoveBuckets · 16/02/2009 20:38

I thought so but you never heard Ian mentioning childcare or running a business with a baby before Jane came along. And I've never heard him mentioned or seen - you'd think Jane would talk about him at least. Esp when Steven was running rampage.

Poor Bobby is typical of Easties' conveniently invisible small children/babies . See also Oscar.

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 16/02/2009 21:13

And Scarlett's always at nursery, does Dawn work?

petitmaman · 16/02/2009 21:13

i have seen bobby a few times. i always think he is around a lot for a soap child. think he is meant to be tiffany's friend at the mo

onepieceofbrusselssprout · 16/02/2009 21:13

Occasionally there is mention of taking Bobby to the "creche". Also he had a party or playdate a few months ago iirc.

LynetteScavo · 16/02/2009 21:18

JODIE - you mean summer - she's usually looked after by Darren when Dawn goes out.

Bobby is at the creche 24/7 - even though he goes to school now.

Oscar is the sleepiest baby in the world. When he does wake up, some one goes upstairs to "sort him out" - which I think is code for drugging him.

And Oscar seems a bit of a late developer - isnt' he supposed to be about 14 months by now - yet when he does wake up, he looks like hes' no more than 10 months.

onepieceofbrusselssprout · 16/02/2009 21:23

Lynette, tonight Dawn was asked if Summer had got off to nursery ok. Afaik she is a tiny bit older than my dd2 - around 20 months I think? I'm not sure how realistic it is that she attends a nursery; Dawn afaik doesn't work (or if she does it's not many hours) and doesn't seem to have a lot of money. I'm not convinced she could afford to use a nursery so regularly.

EastEnders does make me laugh when there is a baby storyline.

SebbysMum · 16/02/2009 21:26

Oscar is a late developer. My DS is almost exactly the same age (in theory) and as my son steams around the room emptying cupboards, Oscar seems content with a lap and a bottle of milk : - )

EyeballsintheSky · 16/02/2009 21:28

LOL DD is about a month younger than Oscar age-wise, and about 3 years ahead of him development-wise! I love it when he's on screen just so I can shriek at how ridiculous it all is

claraqupid · 16/02/2009 21:31

Yes this bugs me as it gives a totally unrealistic portrayal of what having a baby actually means - no wonder we have so many teen pregnancies in this country, they all probably think they can continue to lead their lives as normal and the baby will just "sleep upstairs" or "sit quietly in its pram while it gets pushed from pillor to post". And when it's a toddler it will just "stay quietly upstairs" or "be at the creche 24/7" or even "be looked after by Dot" while mum is at the pub/in the nightclub/running a beauty parlour etc.

My dd2 is also the same age as Oscar and she is at the centre of everything. We could barely have a story line which didn't include her, lucky I'm not in a soap really!

LynetteScavo · 16/02/2009 21:48

And how does Dawn aford all those new clothes - is the market really that cheap?

nickschick · 16/02/2009 21:54

never mind dawns wardrobe where is jane getting her botox????

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/02/2009 21:57

more to the point

it is half term

so whers all the children gone in tonights epidsode?

LoveBuckets · 16/02/2009 22:03

Speaking of Oscar, would you get yourself nicked to protect your teenager when you had a baby with nobody to look after it other than your estranged DH whom you don't trust one inch and is recovering from a coma on crutches?

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 16/02/2009 22:20

erm no

esp as police had no idea who drove the car

so they could have just hushed it up and no one would be the wiser

oscar would have had his mummy and tanya wouldnt have been in prison for x no of months

thumbwitch · 16/02/2009 22:24

Bobby was running around last week with Tiffany at Ian's house, upsetting Jane's mum when she was trying to sleep.

Ditto my DS and Oscar - it really makes us laugh how he is so conveniently bunted out the way. I loved the bit where Max managed to manoeuvre Oscar's pram down the steps outside their house while he was still on crutches!!

LoveBuckets · 16/02/2009 22:26

Oh there's no way Ian would let Bobby play with one of Bianca's kids!

OP posts:
thumbwitch · 16/02/2009 22:26

Should have mentioned that Bobby is actually at school now as he is frequently in school uniform - perhaps that's why you haven't noticed him?

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/02/2009 15:47

its 1/2 term

where were all the children yesteeday?

whitney was there, but no tiffany, bobby, lauren etc

bitofadramaqueen · 17/02/2009 16:02

Jane had to text her vote to Ian so maybe Tiffany was having a play date with Bobby under Jane's supervision.

Am thinking about this way too much...

Have no idea how Dawn could afford nursery fees without a job.

I so wish that my 7 month old slept half as much as Oscar..

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/02/2009 16:54

oscar does sleep a lot, for a 7mth old

he is one month younger than my dc, so i keep tabs

i get hr am and 2hrs pm

and i wondered why summer is in nursery, esp as dawn doesnt work

not saying mums cant have a day off, but shes always there, going there etc

and dawn works nights in R&R so who has her then

as everyone else is in the pub or club

GET A LIFE

bitofadramaqueen · 17/02/2009 17:08

Oscar must easily be over a year old now? Why is he still drinking juice from a bottle. It'll ruin his teeth!

of your 3 hours peace blondes - I get about 20 minutes 3 times a day.

Eastenders is bloody awful ATM (well, worse than usual). This Gary storyline is ridiculous. For 99% of storylines it doesn't appear like any thought goes into plot development. Plots just appear (and disappear) out of nowhere. It wouldn't happen on corrie .

Yes, must get a life too. I'm only on here to avoid what I really should be doing!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/02/2009 17:46

i did think last nights waas funny

gary drinking in pub and then sees hiself on tv

he comes back in the middle of the memorail service dawn does for him

babies need sleep, and I need peace and sanity
