Come on, I know I won't have been the only one to watch it! What did you all think? I thought it was quite dull and seemed very contrived (which The Hills isn't of course ).

I was just about to start a thread on this, so don't worry, you're not alone!!!!

NOTE: I have only seen Episode 1 as Sky+ failed to record Ep 2 (of course the cynic in me would say that DH may have had more then a little part to play in that, given that he was in the room at the time!!) Will be watching Ep 2 tonight.

It was a bit yawnsome wasn't it. I know they need to build up the storylines but even so...
So my predictions:
Jay is going to turn out to be like Justin
Erin will be the new Lauren
And we are so obviously being set up to dislike Olivia, that I think I may like her just to spite them!!

It was interesting though about the dinner party. I was that Whitney brought Erin instead of Jay. Then that Jay turned up. Followed by at their rudeness to leave the party a) so early and b) so blatantly. How very dare they!!!

I wonder if it's because NY is so like London that we will find this less interesting, whereas LA is really a totally different world.

i watched it and thought it was ok ... but talking of new york did you see housewives of new york city on diva tv - bril!!

I loved The City!

Thought it was cruel the way they set Olivia up to be the bitch but she did say 'I hate a limp handshake' WTF!!

I love Whitney, and I hope Jay is not like Justin. I thought it was really interesting how things changed between them after she spent the night with him. She lost the power!!!

I also thought it was very rude to leave the dinner party... Whitney should have told Jay to do one and copped off with an art dealer's son just to spite him.

Phew, not the only one who watched it!

THe whole Olivia thing is clearly set up to create this whole 'uptown/downtown' crowd thing. When Whitney met up with Kelly and said she was working with Olivia didn't Kelly say something along the lines of, 'oh wow, she's actually got a job now has she', so clearly has not been working at DvF (if indeed working at all) for long.

I cannot stand Jay so far, at least Justin grew to be fairly amusing, if not actually likeable!

I cannot stand Jay's flatmate - what a dick!

Yeah I thought it was interesting that Olivia only just got the job - it is so set up, she must have auditioned for the show and the job was part of it.

The City is 'series linked' on my Sky box now!
I managed to avoid The Hills because I didn't have MTV, but The City is going to be one of my guilty pleasures! Am desperately trying to stay away from 'My Super Sweet 16'

I thought it was so sweet last week when Jay said 'let's move our relationship on to the next level'

I am just an old romantic.

I stand by my opinion of Adam though after Sunday's episode - DICK!!!
