Is CBBC grim viewing, or am I sounding like my dad watching TOTP?

Oh dear,my d.c s have recently graduated from cbeebies, and it looks like theres no going back. It all seem pre teenagery to me. Am I missing something?

It is all pretty grim, especially Tracey Beaker.

Still at the Cbeebies stage here thankfully, but I'd like to know why CBBC is on all day. Surely isn't the age group it is aimed at at school during the day?

I watched Only in America with Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates, with DS (his first taste of CBBC), and it showed them visiting NASA and seeing a shuttle launch and to my horror.... I loved it!

I thought they were actually very good at their jobs and had a real spark. Which is a shocker to me as I've always been irritated by Fearne. DS loved it too. I actually thought.... oohh a whole new world of telly as I am a bit weary of blardy big cook and granny murray etc al.

I remember programmes on CBBC (before they had a separate channel!) being good once - managed to watch some episodes on youtube as well so I know it wasn't just me being a kid and loving them. Stuff like Aquila, the Queen's Nose (the original series anyway) - oh and Only in America was good too! Managed to catch that when my sister was watching it.
