OK, so I know it's only Countdown but surely Richard Whitely is turning in his grave!

I think he's doing okay actually.

At least he's not trying to be funny.

She's doing okay as well, I think, the new Carol (except I don't want to call her the new Carol because I didn't particularly like the old one and this one seems ok, but ykwim...)

I REALLY like him. Prefer him on football programmes. I think he is fab. He is clever and witty. And the alternative is ......

Whoever is in charge of Number Girl's wardrobe needs shooting.

Yes, I believe he's very good on the football but just haven't seen any of his wit on Countdown yet. I know he's still settling in. Just seems quite dismissive of the dictionary corner anecdotes.

That "New Carol" just needs the board to be a bit higher. Poor girl seems to be crouching down all the time.

Jeff looks far more comfortable on Sky Sports, but I guess that is his comfort zone. He is a journalist as Richard Whitely was so give him time to settle in.

I cant stand the "New Carol" though, she needs to learn how to write the number 9. It kills me everytime I watch her put it on the board.

He's a bit of a cult figure isn't he? Don't have Sky but think he was well-liked.

He's lovely! Have spent many a Saturday afternoon with Jeff in the corner of the room reading out the football results. Maybe he's just finding his feet cos he's usually charismatic and funny!

Just watching it for the first time since all the changes. I think he's better than Des but that's not difficult.

My three year old just asked where Carol is and 'why isn't Carol doing the letters', he must be her youngest fan.

My Dh loves Stelling. He doesn't even call Sky Sports Sky Sports - it's just called 'Stelling' in our house

Warming to him a bit now. I just have it on in the background when I've picked DCs up from school and there doesn't seem to be much banter.

Cliff - yes I see what you mean about the 9s. She does them as upside down 6s but they just don't fit with the rest of her writing. Get me - "she's just not consistent in her penmanship"!

I have warmed to him, and her... but my gripe is that she has appalling posture, her arms dangle at her sides.

Plus I'm not sure about the fuck-me heels she seems to wear all the time... they just don't seem very 'Countdown'. Which may be a good thing.

She was jigging nervously on the spot at the start yesterday and it was very annoying to watch.

How far ahead do they record? Surely she'd be getting some feedback by now. Do you think that's why she's jigging? Is she hopping around wondering, "Gosh I hope the MNers like my outfit"?!

I think the heels are why she has such dreadful posture - the board is too low for her, she has to lean down to it. Poor love.
