DD1 has been chucking up most of this morning so I've plonked her on the couch and we have so far watched about 2hrs worth of Dora .
Why does she have to shout?
Why does she have such ill fitting clothes - she always shows a bit of tummy?
I am concerned at the load she carries in that backpack - surely its bad for her back?
Shouldn't she be in school instead of going on mad adventures with a monkey and other dubious characters...

Just wait for the joy that is Diego saves the dinosaurs.......

Frizbe · 28/01/2009 10:53

Isn't she a pre schooler? if she's not, kids usually finish school at 12pm in the hot countries, so that's the rest of the day to explore!

I often wonder why Dora has to shout. Bad parenting imo. I bet her mum shouts a lot.

mistlethrush · 28/01/2009 10:55

DIEGO AND DORA BOTH SHOUT. I HATE IT. I REFUSE TO HAVE IT ON THE TV. Sorry about that, don't know what came over me

Almeida · 28/01/2009 10:56

Lets go.....

Frizbe · 28/01/2009 10:56

well its not surprising with baby twins to look after, oh and did I hear her shouting for Dora to come home over about 3 mountains the other day, with a wayward daughter like that......

Almeida · 28/01/2009 10:57

We have it in french - sac a dos, sac a dos - drives me crazy

PortAndLemon · 28/01/2009 10:59

I've always assumed that Diego and Alicia are home educated; perhaps Dora is too?

Frizbe · 28/01/2009 10:59

better than sac magic.....

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 28/01/2009 11:02

They also mumble the Spanish words, I can never tell what they are actually saying, if they are going to try to teach kids Spanish words, at least pronunciate clearly!

Almeida · 28/01/2009 11:03

The dvds we have are in french with english as extra. Sometimes very strange but the kids love it.

scrappydappydoo · 28/01/2009 11:11

We don't watch Diego because 'he's a boy' I'm glad though cos he can't pronounce jaguar properly (well nor can dora but there we go)

dora is 7 according to wikipedia

scrappydappydoo · 28/01/2009 11:15

and its no wonder swiper always swipes their stuff - she spends far too much time asking the audience if they can tell him to stop...
scrappy wanders off muttering...

also Dora def goes to shcool as their is an episode where they help her teacher get to school

Lemontart · 28/01/2009 11:18

Wait till they are a little older and are begging you to watch Wizards of Waverly or Zac and Cody in that awful hotel, Raven and all the other girly programmes...
Dora and Diego will suddenly develop a rosy glow or nostalgia in their innocence

Amani · 28/01/2009 11:40

he he - my DD loves Dora too, although I often wonders if Dora:

a) asks her mums permissions before going on an adventure?

b) Does she stay out late past her bedtime?

c) Do her parents worry abouther when she is out?

d) Does she take sandwiches and a drink with her?

Dora overload..I think..

superdenki · 28/01/2009 15:15

if i were dora's mum i'd be worried about her spending any time with The Map - he has the creepiest voice in all of cartoon land.
