Poor Todd Carty! You could tell by his face that he was terrified when he flew off the ice and out the door. I thought Philip Schofield was going to wet himself he was laughing so much.

Wasn't that a planned move?

i really, really laughed at that, i must say. jayne torville said it had been choreographed that way but the fact that he was actually falling over made it funnier.

I saw it on-line at lunchtime at work - had to put my cuppasoup down in a big hurry before I dropped it!

In the paper today they had a photo of Todd from inside the tunnel, so Todd was coming towards the camera.
He was S*ing himself, you could tell by his face, he was terrified and his arms were flying around all over the place.
Poor Todd!

I've just seen it on FB, someone posted it. I thought it was planned at first because it was such classic well-timed slapstick but having watched it several times you can see his foot get caught and chip the ice just before he stumbles.

It was a planned move, in that he was supposed to overshoot the end of the rink and go into the tunnel, but he wasn't supposed to catch his toe-pick just before going in, and end up flying into the tunnel out of control!

Apparently there were two men at the end of the tunnel 'just in case', to catch him if necessary, and Todd said that the look on their faces as he hurtled flailing towards them, was priceless!

Apparently he fell at their feet, and before he knew it, they'd picked him up, turned him round and pushed him back out onto the rink.

PS - should we start a "Vote for Todd" campaign here (and Facebook etc too, possibly)?
