It's hilarious. CEO of Little Chef (failing badly, shit food (allegedly)) telling the owner of the restaurant voted Best in the World that his food isn't radical enough. Fucking hell.

Blue Sky Thinking - WANKER!!!!!

rookiemater · 19/01/2009 21:53

Yes I'm watching it, wonder why they got HB in, doesn't seem like the right person to do it, would have thought it more Gordon Ramsays style.

Hassled · 19/01/2009 21:53

The CEO is a fool and if he says "blue sky thinking" again I might lose it. He is wrong, wrong, wrong - people want basically what LC provide, just edible and served within a day.

Habbibu · 19/01/2009 21:53

Indeed. It's like a polite version of Kitchen Nightmares.

The CEO is an idiot.

Sparkletastic · 19/01/2009 21:54

In clean premises with better furniture...

Habbibu · 19/01/2009 21:54

Well, yes - not sure LC is quite ready for HB - mind you, the only chance I'm likely to get to try HB food for some time to come, so I'd love it to work...

OP posts:
ruddynorah · 19/01/2009 21:55

how radical does he want the food to be?!

rofl at the head chefs eating the hawaiian burger in total confusion.

Wonderstuff · 19/01/2009 21:55

How did the CEO get the job? The bloke is such a knob! I personally think that Heston is an odd choice for Little chef tbh.

ThumbBurns · 19/01/2009 21:56

this is v. funny. I personally believe the only reason they got HB in is as an advertising ploy - they want it to be super radical so that people think "oo, must go to Little Chef to see what that Heston is doing with the food"

So far, this is going pretty much exactly how I envisaged it - I am pmsl. (sorry, not meaning to sound smug, but me and DH have been discussing it for the last hour!)

Sparkletastic · 19/01/2009 21:56

I'm sure I read a review of this branch a few weeks back and it has been successfully Heston-ed and it was a rave review - Guardian or Observer I think.

smurfgirl · 19/01/2009 21:57

The CEO was SO rude to Heston, he just kept criticizing the cooking. Knob.

Habbibu · 19/01/2009 21:57

"My brain is Little-Chef-oriented, and has been for almost 30 years". Shoot me. Shoot me NOW.

DH has just pointed out that manager-man is Gareth from The Office.

rookiemater · 19/01/2009 21:57

DH and I have sworn blind that we will never go into LC ever again since the unfortunate incident of the 2 for 1 voucher that wasn't valid in the LC we chose to go to. Everything on the menu was deep fried, DH ordered a chicken salad and the chicken arrived battered. Urrghh an unpleasant experience.

Habbibu · 19/01/2009 21:58

Ooh - the CEO is giving HB "licence to think out of the box". Bet he's thrilled!

OP posts:
Hassled · 19/01/2009 21:58

And why were HB's chefs tasting the LC food? They must have 2 of the most refined palates in the world - hardly your average LC customer. Get a sales rep in.

ruddynorah · 19/01/2009 21:59

lol at a kitchen with no blardy pans

let's get radical and cook with.....pans

Wonderstuff · 19/01/2009 21:59

Blue sky thinking!! What on earth gives him the idea that little chef needs blue sky thinking!

MrsDoylesMole · 19/01/2009 22:00

Poncy pretentious food in a truckers cafe
give me the chips anyday.

rookiemater · 19/01/2009 22:00

Exactly hassled. I would imagine what LC needs is high quality burgers, shepherds pie, fish and chips with mushy peas. Basics well done with some vegetables.

noonki · 19/01/2009 22:00

why didn't he ask the customers at the start and the cook at the beginning?

Habbibu · 19/01/2009 22:01

I am fond of HB, though - love his imagination, and he comes across as a nice chap.

OP posts:
Habbibu · 19/01/2009 22:02

But the problem is that LC asked HB - they knew what kind of cooking he does - what's the point of getting him in if you don't want what sets him apart?

OP posts:
Sparkletastic · 19/01/2009 22:02

I had previously assumed HB was a mad scientist - and he is but charming and humorous with it

mosschops30 · 19/01/2009 22:02

I love LC breakfasts though, cant beat them on a journey home with a mahoosive hangover
