Windass senior is teh bloke from the Full Monty isn't he?

Why do Gale and Reece Dinsdale talk like they hardly know each other still but are supposed to be madly in love?

They've buggered up the Steve and Becky storyline haven't they? Got them together but didn't think through what would happen next.

Bumping for you.

Tinker · 16/01/2009 23:40

Thank you

I didnt understand the Gail/tina's dad acting like stranger storyline either Confused

And Steve and Becky were never gonna work.

BettyTurnip · 16/01/2009 23:46

Yes , he's from the Full Monty (and ageing really badly.

Think Joe is meant to be a decent bloke so wouldn't want to shatter Gail's illusions ablout him (ie. skint and homeless) or seem to take advantage of her.

They probably intend to drag the Stece/Becky thing out a lot longer (look how long it took Michelle and Steve to get together) properly). Don't blame her for giving Jason another run out !

BettyTurnip · 16/01/2009 23:47

Gawd, excuse typos - those couple of glasses have had more impact than I thought!

BettyTurnip · 16/01/2009 23:53

And talking about the Windasses - am I the only one who can't bear that family? The mother seems to have wandered in from a bad Victoria Wood rip-off, and the son belongs in Shameless (when it became crap).

themoon66 · 16/01/2009 23:55

the mohther is not right for the father and the son is just odd

Tinker · 16/01/2009 23:57

No, there is no way the mother would be with him. Ageing very badly, can't believe the penny only dropped tonight as to who he is

Yes, I'd road test Jason again.

I like Joe

Joe is nice.... am slightly upset that he appears to be failing.

BettyTurnip · 17/01/2009 00:24

I used to have a big crush on Reece Dinsdale when he was in Home To Roost back in the day. Hope Joe can be saved but any business which uses a 'K' in place of a 'C' deserves trouble ('Klever Kitchens'- ugh).

Jason is the only decent looking man on there now Liam's dead . JD quite nice but has weird under eye bags.

Jbck · 17/01/2009 17:21

I didn't realise who the Windass dad was either. I think the surname is soooo bad that the family have to be a joke.

I loved Reece Dinsdale when he was in that too, sadly I IMDBd him to discover he's not too much older than me. Well quite a few years but not as many as I'd thought. He's way younger than chinless Gail tho'! Hope he gets sorted before Gail thinks he's taking the piss 'cos he seems nice.

Terrible dearth of good lookers in Corrie just now, even Lloyd & Peter are looking good to me at the moment there's so little talent in it.

mamalovesmojitos · 17/01/2009 17:29

ugh peter is a creep.

Jbck · 18/01/2009 00:11

my point exactly

Oovavu · 18/01/2009 00:18

I heart Corrie but even I am getting royally peed off with the crappy Windasses - whatever are the producers thinking of? Clearly trying to replace the Les & Cilla quota on the street but agree the wife esp is being given lines that just DON'T WORK because we feel no warmth towards her at the moment so it's all a bit tumbleweed-y when she's makes a supposed cosy Northern barm-cake comment.

and I'm sorry but the biggest gaffe of all recently has been the swapped them at birth storyline with Michelle. Alex NEVER gets eve a mention nowadays; it's laughable.

and one question: where is the flat that Steve and Michelle have been seen in recently sposed to be? It's a new set: it it sposed to be the upstairs of the Rovers?

Jbck · 18/01/2009 17:31

It is the upstairs but the houses & pub seem to be elastic. They all house about 5 adults in 2 rooms.

Rovers must have Steve & Michelle, Ryan, Amy, Liz, living room & kitchen all upstairs. What happened to the backroom where they all sat in the morning whilst Betty whipped up her hotpots in the tiniest kitchen ever.

BettyTurnip · 19/01/2009 00:22

The most elastic house in a soap has to be the Dingles' place in Emmerdale, there's about fifteen of them crammed into one house. (Incredibly, I do have a life outside of watching " this shite" on tv as DH calls it! ).

Tinker · 19/01/2009 00:26

at name BettyTurnip

Tinker

I'm a bit younger than her I have to say (she must be about 89 or something!)

Gateau · 19/01/2009 14:22

Love Betty Turnip!! Me and DH have always said she looks like a turnip!
I think Peter's lovely. Awful character in Corrie, but lovely all the same.

ProfYaffle · 19/01/2009 14:27

I really liked Steve, am quite disappointed they've turned him into a love rat. The storyline with him, Liz and Lloyd is fab though, makes me rofl.

Jbck · 19/01/2009 21:31

PY did you not squeal out loud when Liz was hiding behind the chair & he said to Lloyd something about coming out from between those legs. I nearly wet myself!

themoon66 · 19/01/2009 22:32

oh yes... that line about coming out between those thighs was a classic!

ProfYaffle · 20/01/2009 09:57

Jbck have you been peeping into my living room! That's exactly what I did!

Will306 · 20/01/2009 22:47

Can I add another question about Corrie..Is Coronation Street a High Street?
They have a newsagents, a grocery store, a hairdressers, a cafe, a take away, a pub, a butchers, a bakers, a bookies, a taxi rank. Have I missed anything out?
It only looks like a small street on the opening credits.

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 20/01/2009 23:02

Will306 it is tiny, I've walked down it, two steps to cross the road. The shops aren't just on Coronation St, there are some on Rosamund St which Coronation St ends on (on the real end, not the picture on a wall) and I think they've added a road parallel to Coronation St that has other shops. Only The Kabin, Underworld and The Rovers are on Coronation St (not sure if the garage is there too though).
