Why why why does he always have to carry that stupid umbrella in his rucksack? Why?

I watched it, but my main concern was that he was traipsing round the top of Snowdon in a 40 mph wind, rain and mist! Not a good advert for mountaineers/hillwalkers is it.

I know Nicholas Crane - or at least did when he and his brother were cycling up Kilimanjaro and other feats of derring-do. He is an eccentric englishman, and lovely with it. What worries me is the way he walks while speaking to the camera over his shoulder - I'm sure one of these days he's going to walk off a cliff!
