Have recorded it - has had great write-ups in the papers.

Flamespar · 06/01/2009 12:03

I saw bits of it (was reading at the time). It made me want to go and finally read it (have had it since I was about 10...)

Tn0g · 06/01/2009 12:03

Watched it with my 11 year old ds and will definitely watch tonight.

We both thought the acting was excellent.

Lay in bed last night trying to imagine the awfulness of being in that situation, couldn't really, but Anne Franks love of life and optimism detailed in her diary is a truly wonderful legacy.

< Happy New Year, MAS. Hope you and yours are well >

MamaG · 06/01/2009 12:07

oh bugger i didnt know it was on

i would have enjoyed it

Tn0g · 06/01/2009 12:09

It's on each night this week at 7pm, BBC1.

TsarChasm · 06/01/2009 12:09

Haven't watched it yet. Is it ok for 10 yr old? Thought dd would find it interesting.

ChopsTheDuck · 06/01/2009 12:30

i watched it, looks very good. My dd (8) watched it with us. I think it would be fine for a 10 year old.
We're going to visit the musuem at Easter, so the programn was great timing for us.

bigTillyMint · 06/01/2009 12:33

We have recorded it.

DD(10) LOVES the Anne Frank story - has read the book, and we went to the museum in Amsterdam last year. DS really enjoyed it too. Book your tickets ahead - we jumped a huge queue in torrential rain!

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/01/2009 12:39

hello Tnog - happy new year to you too !
Yes, is on all week at 7pm. Watched it with ds who is 11.

I've recorded it to watch with DS (8) later.

We went to Anne Frank's house last year , so am really keen for DS to see it.

nailpolish · 08/01/2009 11:15

i love this
last night made me cry a bit
i cant wait til the dds are old enough to read it

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/01/2009 08:49

PuppyMonkey · 09/01/2009 08:57

I've been watching it, it's wonderful. But even when there's nothing sad happening, I am just in tears all the time. Very traumatic.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/01/2009 10:00

everyone in it is excellent..

agree tamsin greig is great. anne writing that letter to her parents was done beautifully.the selfishness of teenagers was highlighted so well.almost painful to watch.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/01/2009 10:10

Margot is very interesting and sad

mysterymoniker · 09/01/2009 10:13

glad it is not just me welling up at thought of final episode tonight

wish more people would bear this sort of thing in mind when they go all pro-hamas

Zebraa · 09/01/2009 10:28

I'm ADDICTED! I'm so gutted it's ending tonight!!

Anyone else find themselves hoping for a happy ending, even though we know what's coming?

Gripping!

Nbg · 09/01/2009 10:34

Does anyone know if this is being repeated or shown on BBC3/4?

I cant believe I've missed it.

Try BBC iplayer thingy. If not, I'm sure it will be repeated at some point - will keep eyes peeled for you.

atowncalledalice · 09/01/2009 20:55

Have just watched the final episode on iPlayer and am sitting here sobbing my heart out. DS2 is going to watch it tomorrow and wants me there to answer questions etc (and to hold his hand during the scary bits ) but I'm not sure I can see it again without falling to pieces.

ComeWhineWithMe · 09/01/2009 21:05

Oh my goodness just sobbed and sobbed ,we all sat in stunned silence ,it was just awful .

It is been repeated on bbc from the 20 something can't remember the exact date sorry.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/01/2009 21:36

it was so good, so moving...we all watched the other film just now on BBC4
