Barnaby Bear.

I never fail to be puzzled at the composure of Barnaby's fellow travellers.

Do none of the passers-by consider it even mildy amusing that a walking, talking bear is on the bus / checking in at the airport / sitting calmly on a park bench? They can't all be 'extras' surely?!

Is Barnaby 'pasted' onto a busy street scene afterwards using modern technology?

I was just watching that with the children! I said this was the olden days before the Euro.

I did see a few people with faces like this on Tara St platform as the Dart headed off to Bray.

Maybe it takes SO long to film that the passers by lose interest. I went to blinddddda date years ago, and it took so long to film, I was insane by the end. Wanted to escape, but turned out we were actually LOCKED in.

I was thinking this a while ago about the Tweenies

I don't know, that show is full of mysteries. I never fail to be puzzled at why a walking talking male bear has to be voiced by a 60-year-old Yorkshirewoman. Or whether "Dad" is a human (ie Becky's dad) or a really big mad-staring-eyed bear...

LiffeyAnnaLivia · 05/01/2009 11:58

I think B's Dad is a bear too. THey sometimes show his 'paw'.

snowleopard · 05/01/2009 12:00

Ooh I've never seen the "paw" - obviously not a devoted enough fan

littleboyblue · 05/01/2009 12:00

Barnaby's mum does the filming, she's supossed to be the one holding the camera, I've seen her paw.....

LiffeyAnnaLivia · 05/01/2009 12:01

They were at the zoo once and the paw handed over an icecream. Or did I imagine that. False memory syndrome! I feel unsure now.

MrsSeanBean · 05/01/2009 12:02

The oddest thing was when Barnaby went to Mexico City and even there no-one batted an eyelid!?!

You can see almost all Mr Bear when they are 'going on a ramble, a ramble, a ramble' I think, when they have the picnic and think they are being pursued by a scary hairy fairy or some such cobblers and it turns out to be Mr Bear improbably covered in a hay-stack.

MrsTittleMouse · 05/01/2009 12:12

In the fun fair episode Mrs Bear does the thing where you hit a pad with a hammer and ring a bell - she won a prize. And you can see almost all of her. that I know that.

MrsSeanBean · 05/01/2009 12:15

Interesting. I have never seen either Mr or Mrs Bear. I assumed it was the camera(wo)man!

I'm sure it most often is. I can't imagine they actually make the poor cameraman dress up in a bear costume everytime, regardless of whether he's on screen or not...

Maybe they do, though. That would be pretty amusing.

LiffeyAnnaLivia · 05/01/2009 14:11

When they were in Mexico, maybe the locals thought, Gringos, que esperas ey??
