don't watch it, absolutely hideously sad & depressing.

HeinzSight · 22/12/2008 21:19

It's a very good film, definitely worth the hassle of reading the subtitles.

schneebly · 22/12/2008 21:20

I always almost forget that I am reading subtitles after a while - give it a chance?

ChristmasFairySantAsSLut · 22/12/2008 21:21

might have to roll down teh screen and turn on the projector than , that way I have a chance of reading the words, lol....to small otherwise...

don't mind sad and depressing....

It is a BEAUTIFUL film - dont miss it.

SleighGirl · 22/12/2008 21:23

it's heart wrenching & brutal. Don't say I didn't warn you, actually I'm not sure you need the subtitles to tell you the story it's quite graphic enough.

christmaseve · 22/12/2008 21:24

Good film, I also forgot the subtitles.

ChristmasFairySantAsSLut · 22/12/2008 21:24

thanks for the comments...I will give it a proper go...which means stopping to mumsneet for now, lol....

get the tissue box ready.

HeinzSight · 22/12/2008 21:27

warning, there is a HORRIBLE violent scene involving a Father and son who've been hunting and are captured, not watching it right now, so don't know if that bit's been and gone.

SparklyBaubleFeast · 22/12/2008 21:27

i saw it recently, and could not tear myself away.
very good.

ChristmasFairySantAsSLut · 22/12/2008 21:48

One of the best films I have seen subtitled or not its a must watch film very good

SleighGirl · 24/12/2008 17:27

Powerful yes - heart wrenching crying from me, I will stick to trash as much as possible!

snigger · 24/12/2008 17:30

Devastating and beautiful, this film stayed with me for so long...

I'm deeply hacked off to have missed it, again.

Ripeberry · 24/12/2008 22:41

The ending was so shocking, but so beautifull. Like she was released from the brutality of her life to live with the "fairies".

ChristmasFairySantAsSLut · 29/12/2008 12:28

sniger...I am sure I have seen it advertised for possibly tonight again...Film Four, I think....have a look!

Ripeberry...indeed, the end is so tragic but beautyful....
the brutality of the whole movie was so shocking, but what I found even worse was the knowledge that this sort of brutatility is reality in wars...shudder....
