My Dh has always maintained they were from Rent-a-Crowd. I'll have to tell him it seems he was right!

In one of her series, she was "allegedly" sitting on a London bus, eating her home made soup from a flask!!!

Turned out, the bus was on a route especially made up for her, the other passengers were also from the Rent-a-Crowd mob.

Love it when "celebswhowanttobeliketherestofus" turn out to be far from it

We rent out our house for film/tv locations and as a result I have regularly been roped in to feature as various celebs/chefs friends joining in a Sunday lunch/cocktail party/ children's birthday party. It's all a con!

how gloriously camp if Philip Hensher, even camper than Nigella (whose name even sounds like a dodgy drag queen).
Nigella's 'friends' are all so multi-cultural, and often vaguely familiar, as if you've spotted them,say, in Walford market or lying on a bed in Casualty...

and how come Charles Saatchi isn't ever there- perhaps his diet forbids it. John Diamond RIP used to appear in previous Nigellas but couldn't eat because of his tongue cancer

They are too diverse - all ages, races etc - to be her real friends. I don't think Saatchi hangs about with 23 yr old dreadlocked guys, really.

Re: Maria McErlane. I reckon there is always one real friend (the one she actually addresses in the camera piece) and then the fake friends just hang around in the background smiling idiotically and saying 'Mmmm, your gingerbread stuffing is divine, daaaahlin' as rehearsed

Pui is one of her friends? I must check back. I am always intrigued by the private lives of the Cbeebies crew. I have definitely noticed at least one friend who dates back to the series that that are now showing on UKfood (I think 'Nigella Bites'). Apparently the house does belong to Nigella - she bought it for investment and filming purposes. I read it in an interview.
