I agree re showing it to prospective parents (all parents, but esp those considering boarding as an option for their children) and in schools.

ggirlsbells · 15/12/2008 23:17

Heathcliffscathy · 15/12/2008 23:18

OP posts:
Heathcliffscathy · 15/12/2008 23:21

actually was the rugby teacher. not the headmaster. who knew about it and did nothing except cover it up

ggirlsbells · 15/12/2008 23:38

caldicott is still open as far as I know.

turquoise · 15/12/2008 23:53

Astonishingly, htere's been ANOTHER child abuse scandal at that school recently.

twinsetiscrapatflouncing · 15/12/2008 23:54

I was a little confused as the abuser was named as Peter Wright the headmaster, but then it said the headmaster covered it up but the abuser was the rugby teacher.

Ok.

turquoise · 16/12/2008 00:02

I got the impression there were three abusers, but the one who abused Mark was not named because there was no case brought against him.

NotanOtter · 16/12/2008 00:03

omg turquoise

twinsetiscrapatflouncing · 16/12/2008 00:04

Yes there were three and one unnammed although I am sure I read somewhere else that several teachers had been at least accused.

Have to admit when we were thinking of sending dd to a public school and I found out about a similar case I did a lot of reading around on the issue.

Apparantly the current headteacher quietly let go of a teacher who was accused of sexual abuse rather than following recomended child protection procedures.
